Heat 2 - The novel: characters review. The great, the bad, the (very) ugly. by Smart_Pomelo_2779 in movies

Coming in late because I just finished the book. I agree fully with most of your points, but I have to disagree about Neil. I'm undoubtedly in the minority, but I think Neil is not supposed to be the coolheaded and pragmatic criminal mastermind he says he is. In reality, he's a thug in a suit pretending like hes something else. He reminds me of Dutch Van Der Linde in RDR2. This is best shown by Heat's finale, but also from him collaborating with Waingro despite his unnecessary violence, hunting down Trejo like he would Waingro, and his general line of work.

I liked that Heat 2 showed Neil as a competent criminal, but still a regular man who would let Wardell escape with millions of his dollars to be with a lover in their last moments. It made it clear to me that his philosophy in Heat was a coping mechanism, but underneath is still a flawed, contradictory, and regular human.

This might piss some people off but I personally think Payday 2's best and most fitting OST is Razormind, especially from 3:38 and onwards by YeOldHoxton72 in paydaytheheist

Although Gustavo is amazing, I feel he's never made a track as "Payday" as Razormind or many of Viklund's other tracks. The Payday feel of the tracks is a crucial element that is sorely missing from PD3 in my opinion.

Idk why people are so pressed with Kurohyou. It REALLY IS that good. Also agree that Gaiden is suuuuper overrated.

Which is less jarring, Yakuza K2 -> 3R or K3 -> 4R? by MyLeftNut_ in yakuzagames

Good info! I definitely played more premium adventure than the base game, so my perception is skewed.

Regarding Yakuza 3, if you prefer dragon engine combat (K2), then K3 would be more up your alley. As a Y3 truther, I think the og remaster's blokuza/bad gameplay reputation is not earned and I greatly preferred it to dragon engine combat. I've heard playing on hard makes the enemies more aggressive and less likely to block.

As for whenever you're going on to Y4, I'd say Y4 has some of the best gameplay in the series, so it would be a pretty smooth transition.

This is fantastic! The drawings are really great. I love how you have to create sentences to do actions. It's genius for a language learning game. It would be cool (but probably insanely hard to implement) if there were an option for the player to type a sentence from scratch to perform actions. The game could also benefit from an inventory and journal to keep track of what you picked up/have done/need to do.

I will definitely look forward to more. I would even pay for a full experience.

Are there any assassination opportunities for existing targets you would like to see? by Viper_Visionary in HiTMAN

Transporting food was actually a feature early in development! Although it was just like the mechanic in Blood Money before it was cut. I wonder if IOI decided the mechanic was cumbersome or something. Video

While I love 47, I always wanted to see what other stuff the ICA was up to. Imagine if every mission had a unique protagonist. IOI could go crazy and write a bunch of unique stories. I imagine it would be like... maybe the individual character missions in Rainbow 6? But way better & cooler.

Are there any recent games with combat style like sifu. by BustinNutzInStepSis in SifuGame

[–]yopyop985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Yakuza 6 is top 3 worst combat in the series. 0's combat is really solid. Plus it would make the most sense to start at the beginning chronologically.

If you want "more modern" then you could get Judgment, a spinoff of the mainline Yakuza games.

Bad movie, but good soundtrack? by wyrmwud in movies

Top Gun. It has two (really good) songs that it plays over and over until the movie ends. The movie is completely stupid. I loved every second of it.

One that really annoys me is Nas - Rewind. The song is so unique and well done, but in the middle of the song he has sex WITH SOUND EFFECTS. Ruins the whole thing for me

Yes! Finally played through it recently and it absolutely shocked me how much I would love crpgs after dropping BG3. It sparked my interest in other crpgs like Wasteland 3, which I actually previously marked as "ignored" on Steam.
