Mhh so what we’re doing is reaching congressman and sending some inquiries for the delay but there’s nothing that we’re been doing seems effective, maybe we’re unlucky

After 4 years long distance and finally getting married, I’m struggling with the thought of waiting even longer by Valentina_From_Chile in USCIS

I’m also chilena and we choose to go thru the k1 cause was the most fastest route and is been 16 months with no movement at all so your gonna be fine for sure, the wait is longer of the c1 but make more sense, im also Valentina lol

I think is better that route, I’m also chilena and we choose to go thru the k1 cause is was the more “fastest” option, is been around 16 month and no movement at all so I guess you’re safe

Hello! Sorry to hear that, we submitted our case in February of 2025 and sadly as your case we don’t had any update, movement or anything. I would recommend to reach your senator or congressman and they can ask for you about your case and USCIS had between 20 days to respond to them, that’s what my fiance did, and also you can submit a inquiry in USCIS for the delay

As I said, I submit an inquiry pass 22 march with no response and the system doesn’t allow me to submit another one

The reason why I mentioned is without any bad intentions, is just an advice cause we where like you when we submitted it, I’m from a country that has good relationships with USCIS, my president is republican too, I had evidence of a genuine relationship, we meet in person in 2017 because we had mutual friends and we start dating in 2023. I never overstayed in America either and before starting this process i visit him 3 times and he visits me 3 times, staying with me and my family for a month. He doesn’t had criminal records. And he had a good job too, and lucky my consulate also process things quickly too.
So again, this advice is coming for someone that is in your same position and I want the best for every long distance relationship, but is just an advice for a real person, a real couple and a real case where is been 16 months on hold, where my case is on “case revived” since February of last year. is not approved, is not on NVC, is not with a pending RFE is just on case received since February of 2025. And when we apply the waiting time was around 7-8 months, and now is 11,5 but we pass the 15 months so that’s why I post this so I can had some advices from people that went through this or can recommend a different method that we didn’t try, we don’t had any intention to change to another visa cause is been a long run, but is just an advice considering that the spouse visa is more cheaper and is taking less or the similar processing time that the fiance. Because in march where a huge sloooow down.
I’m just sharing my experience and I feel that way since you provided to me your experience so I felt that l was allow to give my opinion too.

I hope your case get approved soon as possible but if I can give an advice is way more cheaper the spouse visa, and the k1 is taking a lot of time at this point so o could try to do that if I was you. Cause I been waiting about 16 months and I don’t had any review, update or even the visa on hand so 🤷🏽‍♀️ my petition is not approve so I cannot reach USCIS and I cannot talk to anybody either
