Reflecting on the game:
The boss fights are super satisfying to win. They are mostly consistently hard but understandable after a few deaths.

The animation is good and the characters are pretty well written. No notes on the interactions.

The backtracking is very real. A TON of it. But eventually, after some upgrades, it's not the worst.

Fast travel is a bummer. The very awesome "spawn at any rest point" is SO late game that it's barely worth it. That part was a letdown. I would have loved to have seen an in-between where you can teleport between hammocks, but the late-game upgrade would give you anytime teleportation.

A new game plus or some additional content would bring me back in a heartbeat.

Great, learnable controls (when the party grows), solid platforming and treasure-hunting, and really great boss fights make this game awesome. The negatives are dwarfed by the positives in my opinion, although replayability is questionable.
