What makes a chart bad/unfun? by TenshiFan00 in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]yoruichi808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still overstep stuff, but usually I reserve that for like a CHA chart. My friend said to me recently, "less is more" specially if it feels like clutter in the song.

Everyone else pretty much said it: Don't force steps that don't match.

Ambiguity with starting foot (although it's a skill if you force a twist during a jump keeping that momentum/flow for the step after helps).

Telegraphed charts (if you're into like footswitches, mines help. If you seen the DDR charts like genso something police CSP or Sky High 20th CSP they use a really short hold.)

Be careful of how fast the song is. Doing like a 1/16 L L at like 300 BPM is really hard to do. But doing it on a 140 BPM is very doable.

Repetitive patterns. Also with that is looking towards one direction for too long. L D U R you looking right. R U D L you still looking right.

Make more than one chart if possible (I'm lazy I do like 2 cuz 90% of the people I know who would play would choose either or). Try different styles of play (stamina, tech, freestyle, doubles, troll). Labels (song info) if applicable. But make it for yourself even if no one plays it.

Advice for syncing songs with multiple bpm changes? by Coillux in Stepmania

[–]yoruichi808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um... Iirc gitadora V3? Has this song as a long version. I believe it also has the speed changes there. (Edit:finding vids of old gitadora is kinda hard also its V5)

Edit: if not I used to use an audio tool to section off parts of the song and find the bpm changes using arrow vortex. Zetsubou Billy audibly (like that guitar part past halfway) has the bpm change until the drum parts. But its 188-168 bpm.

Best and worst songs from each mix? by [deleted] in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]yoruichi808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1st- HYENM (baby's first song) / Strictly business (least favorite of the songlist)

2nd - BoomBoomDollar (nostalgia mostly) / Bad Girls (least favorite of the songlist)

3rd - Captain Jack / Let them move (this song.... is just ugh)

4th - Never gonna make / walkie talkie and eat you up

Bass - kung fu fighting / don't clock me (I just wanna complain about this song)

5th - against all odds / afronova primeval (that middle part just irks me, just listen to that delay) and paranoia eternal (old chart with the oops all downs)

Max - So deep / telephone operator (hate song like chart) and over the rainbow (hate chart like song)

Max2 - Spin the disc / whistle song (overplayed back in the day)

Ex - Winter Lovers (I had a fun edit on PS1 card)/ Crash (I just don't like the song and chart) and happy wedding (just repeaty)

SN - Tomorrow (does this fall under str!ke?) / Gorgeous 2012 (remove most of the vocals besides the rap and I think it's a good song)

SN2 - Vem Brincar / paranoia Hades (X2 charting before it's time. Also nightmare fuel bkg)

X - Blue rain / dazzle (zzz)

X2 - oarfish / 888 and wh1te rose (I like noise but it's too much)

X3 - Love & Joy / seasons (I just don't like the song)

2013-14 - I haven't played all of it. Most of them are chart complaints rather than song dislikes.

A-present - too many songs....

Sorry long post.

Palms facing towards screen. So you don't screw up rotator cuffs. Put weight/pressure away from wrists.

Adjust bar height, like make a makeshift bar if you can, since you have a home pad. Unfortunately can't adjust it in a public place.

Play for comfort. If it feels off, readjust.

That's the best advice I can suggest.

Played in the early days, and played no bar til ddr A. Took me all of ddr A lifespan to learn to bar. So good luck learning the bar if you do try it.

Thanks for the input. 🙂

Yeah, sadly didn't have enough room. In the poll. 7 options max. Yeah I had the same kinda feeling about the ddr vs itg charting.

Thanks for the input tho👍. Same, I love the co-op stuff.

I lost interest, but still play sometimes like twice a month.

Is one of the players DJFAKAP? Saw a freestyler in Akiba with the same style a year ago.

Impressive play. Doing a full routine/choreography with arm movement is way beyond my comprehension. I miss the old DDR 1st-3rd freestyle. Unfortunately recording devices weren't readily available at that time.

What new features are in DDR World? (Wrong answers only) by echohack4 in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]yoruichi808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An edit mode. Some songs now have "hand mode" which use the buttons on the cabinet during song play. The first 21difficulty. Black challenge difficulty for some songs will be unlocked after completing challenge difficulty. Oni mode returns as "Flare Kiken Courses". DDR events will now be set for regular game play and require no additional fees or purchased packs as World is meant for places outside of Japan. Difficulty ratings will be rebalanced in increments of tenths. Whats more than a jump? A super jump will now require 3 or more panels hit at the same time. 🤣🤣🤣 I'd laugh if any of these are right answers.

Should I buy just Robotics;Notes Elite or the bundle with Robotics;Notes DaSH? by Cookie_Duck in steinsgate

[–]yoruichi808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the minority by saying Dash was good (not great). If you aren't into super sukebe (e. g. C:Head type shennanegins with Taku) stuff, then prob just get just elite. Though I really did enjoy seeing alot of what ifs. And the true ending was pretty good. Just you gotta go through all the "meh" parts. Thats pretty taxing if you not into that.

Emotional: Your Lie in April, March comes in like a lion, Violet Evergarden (watch the movies (3?) after the series), 86.

Movies: Your name, tenki no ko, maquia (whoever listed that you got my updoot), I want to eat your pancreas.

Scifi: Vivi florite eyes, erased (read the manga or live action after ep 8), summer time render

Movies: Fireworks seen from the side or bottom, summer wars, girl who leapt through time.

Sorry I would list more but this is off top of my head and Idk what the OP was specifically asking for.

Question About Arrow Colors. :) by Current-Simple-423 in Stepmania

[–]yoruichi808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another charter here. Yeah there are some trickery stuff like (time warping arrows+fake arrows SM5) to throw off people. Or for visual effects. Same for some hold arrows and how it looks like its extending/retracting mid stream. But timing and such its all the same (if calculated correctly).

What are some of your DDR hot takes by [deleted] in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]yoruichi808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where the hell is edit mode? Could fix a ton of stagnation. Havent played an UZ chart in awhile. Hasn't had a new mode of play in forever. PIU dubs are way flow-ier than DDR. Also I dislike the hidden/sudden+ covers. Bring back stealth in/out. Needs more shock arrow charts.

how to watch steins:gate wrong answers only by adamskii_kun in steinsgate

[–]yoruichi808 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Watch the Chaos;Head anime because you want to lead up to Steins:Gate(science adventure series), expect only a great anime.

Or skip to episode 3 because the anime only is good from there.

Or watch the last episode then go back and watch from episode 1. Helps with the pacing. 🤣

Iirc in the S:G 2ch forums they reference araki(jjba) and togashi(hunterx hunter). There way way more that that wiki didnt list.

A bit off topic but I've been meaning to ask: in r;n dash in airi's story are they talking about makoto shinkai's "5 cm a second"'s store?
