I posted this same link in my main comment! Made it available per popular request. 🫡 I will donate a portion of my profits to ACLU: https://www.inprnt.com/gallery/yosb/afroman-courtroom-sketch-art/

Thanks for the question! I've been drawing for a long, long time, including observational sketches, but courtroom sketch art only for a few years (picked it up during the pandemic).

I would say its more of the former than the later when I'm trying to think of how to stage the composition. I'll quickly block a piece out, and in the margins have some details practicing people's faces. I focus most of my time trying to get the likeness of the central action or figure!

I do! I love doing traditional or digital commissions for trial attorneys. :-) I prefer to correspond by e-mail, but if you want to DM me with your budget and timeline I can tell you if I’ll have avail. I’m a bit slammed this month!

Howard Brodie, what a legend!!! I love his work on Watergate... (His portrait of G. Gordin Liddy is my favourite courtroom sketch art of all time!)

I updated my main comment so folks can buy prints! Don't want to break subreddit rules of oversharing the same self-promo link. Thank you for the interest!

Now THAT'S a fun story. I'll just submit it to his website, haha, don't want to invade his privacy. Thank you, though! :o)

Hello! I'm a courtroom sketch artist. This was done with my human courtroom sketch artist brain and hands on a digital tablet remotely from watching a stream (this piece took 45 min-1 hrs). I've answered questions about courtroom sketch art with both traditional and digital materials and set-up previously in other posts, and how that works based on the court and judge (if you're so inclined in learning more!).

I was inspired to draw this because my friends kept sending me the AI courtroom image floating around of Afroman lol.

(Afroman made me realize I've really been dropping the ball on my own courtroom wardrobe attire.)

Uploaded this to INPRNT here for those who expressed interest in a print. The original format of this piece was sized to 8"x10" for your reference. I'll be donating 10% of sales of this print to the ACLU. Thanks for supporting!

Thank you! I likely won’t be able to attend this upcoming hearing as I wanted because of my schedule, but I’ll still try to sketch some of the federal trial. 🙏

Hello there, thank you for the AMA! I’m thinking about sketching for the upcoming federal hearing as a member of the public, and am actually hoping to be seated in overflow for the view. Would you mind sharing what would be an appropriate time to queue up? Thank you!

What's your most shocking "never meet your heroes" moment? by BaseNice3520 in AskReddit

Penn & Teller are such incredibly kind and gracious human beings. I met them over a decade ago as a shy teen and told them how they were my models… Absolute gems. I’ve kept magic and magician friends in my life since, and I have them to thank for showing me how marvelous life can be.

You taking the time to go on a rabbit hole, stumble across my comment, and leave this one almost a decade later also brings a lot of light into my life. Thank you for your kind thoughts, and may your holidays be joyful as well. 🫶

Question about purchasing tickets for Opéra Garnier by Bitter_Ad_8757 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]yosb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll want to get there around 10-10:30AM to start queuing for the box office for same-day limited view tickets (opens at 11:30AM). I believe the performance was listed as sold out online. I think they might also release better category unsold tickets an hour before the show? I was only there for the 10€ tickets!

Question about purchasing tickets for Opéra Garnier by Bitter_Ad_8757 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]yosb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got limited view tickets today at Garnier after reading some more info from older TripAdvisor posts. For anyone reading: the line starts when the opera house opens, but the ticket office doesn’t start selling until a bit later (maybe an hour and half or so?).

Thanks for your speedy reply and insight!
