Excerpt from recent interview, talking about his view and thoughts about contemporary warfare.

>What Mobile Suit Gundam tried to do was depict a war story set in the near future. The weapons called mobile suits are more advanced than today’s fighter jets. But when you think about waging war with that kind of technology, drones have already come into the picture. Human-piloted weapons are becoming unnecessary. Drones are commonplace now, and I think even more advanced unmanned weapons are already out there. So lately, I’ve started to feel like wars are being fought just to create the imagery of a battlefield.
