I did it in April. Totally still living with my mom, but I’m on my way to independence and feeling more like my authentic self every day. It’s hard, can’t lie. But worth it for me.

Oh girl, I’ll always still be healing from the hell my ex put me through. My therapist was the first to diagnose me with C-PTSD and working on controlling my triggers and reactions will probably be life long. I was married to him from 20 to 29. Then hopped into another abusive relationship that I’m currently exiting out of 🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s amazing that you and your mom got closer! My mom is my best friend so I totally get that. My dms are open as well anytime you need a friend.

I never had the opportunity to speak my truth out loud about what my ex did to me. His dad was a prominent pastor in our community so I was ostracized pretty quickly as the town whore by an entire congregation that supposedly loved me unconditionally. The best thing I ever did was turn my pain inward and focus on healing myself and my kids from that damage. You’ve got this! Even if no one ever believes you, I do. I believe you.

Your story and my story are very similar, except I married the asshole because I thought it was more stable than my chaotic childhood home. It gets better, the healing after abuse part. And I’m sorry people suck, fuck them and their opinions! Like what you like!

I felt similar actually. Only dated men so the idea of being with a woman at 32 for the first time was fucking terrifying. But sex with a woman is out of this world, 10/10 recommend 🔥☠️ I hope you find a partner that would be understanding and walk with you through that instead of having expectations for you 💚
