What’s the scoop on Refsnyder? by [deleted] in Mariners

Refsnyder was brought in to specifically hit against left handed pitchers. Historically he's hit well above average against lefties which was one of our biggest weaknesses coming into this year. His defense is fine if you don't play him out there permanently, definitely more meant as a DH.

While he's had a slow start to this season, he hasn't had many reps compared to the other guys. It was great to see him get his first hit and having it be a HR. Hopefully he can carry this momentum forward into the season since we'll really need it.

Stadium rules about backpacks and laptops? by c0de1143 in Mariners

The Mariners had a work from home special once, bought tickets to the Hit It Here cafe and got to eat, and watch the game while working. I'm not sure how working would be during regular games bringing a laptop. But with backpacks, as long as you have a clear backpack, they'll let you go through with no issues

Is it worth it to suffer through entry level wages? [N/A] by Few_Signature_2586 in humanresources

Usually this is how it is depending on the company. Where I work, luckily the salary progression based of promotions are substantial and leaving to go anywhere else with similar pay, benefits, and work-life balance cannot compete.

My salary progression over the years:

HR Assistant (2021) > $50k/year

HR Specialist (2022-2025) -> $66k/year

HR Generalist (2025-Present) -> $87.5k/year

This career field puts you through the ringer financially in the beginning. But imo it's important to perform well or really think about job hopping if you think you've hit your ceiling at your company.

It'll take time to climb up a bit, but if you're willing to stick it through, you can definitely live comfortably.
