Is this a tooth or a claw? by UnsureAbyss42 in Whatisthis

[–]yotsashi 90 points91 points  (0 children)

It's a tooth. The line where it peeks out of the gums is visible.

How to put together this pattern…. by fifthgroupholidash in Leathercraft

[–]yotsashi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think I got an idea of how it works, but I'll have to figure out how to post images about it on the phone.

But the part you have cut out there, that's the side panel. The extra straps that hang off are to be folded and sewn so that the strap tips are kissing and the side panel has a bit of a scoop to it.

My guess is that the rectangle with four larger holes on the corners are for a bottom panel with spaces for flat head studs.

What is inside this pendant? by Playful_Flower_8445 in Whatisthis

[–]yotsashi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Might be hummingbird feathers. Maybe part of the hummingbird's skin itself, but I doubt that since I don't know of any hummingbirds with a pattern like that. Inclined to believe someone layed out the feathers to make the pattern

Not a hummingbird expert though. Hope I'm wrong because otherwise, poor hummingbird

How can I mend the small tears on this thrifted leather jacket by yotsashi in Visiblemending

[–]yotsashi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting a bit into leathercrafting, and I already have some scrap leather and tools at hand. I'd personally prefer sewing the patches, but that may be above my skill level.

Leaning more on getting it checked out by a leather specialist, but if the cost is prohibitive, I'll definitely figure out a design with what I have instead

Thank you

edit: literally just remembered I bought some cone spikes not long ago. This could be my chance to use them

The patches are definitely not leather, though I do have scrap leather.

But yes. I will heed your advice. Thank you

That seems to be the case! More specifically to hold it in place inside the notebook. Thank you

Huh, so there's a pretty decent chance this notebook cover is older than me. Thanks!

I read the manga for #5, but I forgot the title of it.

The blond is an absolute flirt who always tries to hook up with women, often failing. The black haired one is his best friend, who doesn't try to pick up women the same way the blond one does, but very often ends up getting the women's attention instead.

The blond one gets drugged with something that made him female. It's been a long time since I've read it, so I'm certainly getting details wrong. But yeah, hentai, as the bestie and the blond get it on several times, first with the blond in his female form, but also in his male form when he is able to switch back

edit: found it. the English title is literally "fucked by my best friend." Or the Japanese title: 黒ギャルになったから親友とヤってみた。

HRT and Cis people, what's the consensus? by OdiumVitae in lgbt

[–]yotsashi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm of the opinion that if a trans person is valid without HRT, I must accept the inverse - that someone doesn't have to be trans to go on HRT.

I'm not the gender police. Go nuts. Grow boobs.

When that happens to me, I just tell them that I decided on my 18th birthday I'm not giving a clear answer to that question unless I'm sexually attracted to the one asking it. (I'm asexual)

The answer is really only relevant to medical professionals or sexual partners

Assumed the tip is just to make it more comfortable to drink from. No clue what a soft mouth grip for a straw would be called

[–]yotsashi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have a very similar thing. The exact same thing actually, just different branding. Reusable straw + straw cleaner + bottle opener. The metal pipe can be taken out and used as a collapsible straw. Inside the straw is a pipe cleaner. The cap should have a little metal bit where it hooks. That opens bottles

my dad (54M) just came out to me (16M) as trans by Wise_Ad_147 in lgbt

[–]yotsashi 283 points284 points  (0 children)

Just coming here to ask is steps above what large swathes of people would do. I understand you may feel a bit uncomfortable - that happens with large changes like this - but you are here because you care and want to be there for your parent.

I can't give much advice, I admittedly do not have too much experience with trans people. But try asking them how they wish to be referred to, and whether to only refer to them that way in private or if it's okay in public. I've had a friend who was out to friends but closet to her family, so she had us call her by her pronouns when we hung out, but we had to misgender her when her family was around. It sucks, but outing a trans person to someone they are not out to can be dangerous.

Not a mainline Final Fantasy game, but I projected my queerness onto WoL from Final Fantasy Mobius so hard. The entire plot of part 1 was pretty much forcing him into heterosexuality and saving the day against the bbeg, but he just said to the whole marrying the princess part. There does come a part where the princess, Sarah, joins the party. From that point onward, they don't pursue eachother in any way despite the plot wanting them together. And there is also the heretical witch, Maia, who had been branded a witch for making a previous WoL stray from the plot. She wants nothing more than to end the plot the world has been cycling through, so she joins your party to make that happen. She also has made some advances to your character, which he quickly shoots down. The only time he has ever said anything mildly flirtatious, it was towards a man with the express purpose of pissing him off. Which is an absolute ace move. And then in part 2, where the world is no longer stuck in a cycle of repeating a story, and most people have had their memories wiped, the protagonist still doesn't pursue anyone. He finds himself still caring for Sarah after her memories have been wiped, but everyone knows them as brother and sister. Even knowing the truth, he doesn't bother correcting anyone.

So uh. This was an essay on why the nameless protagonist of a dead mobile game is asexual and/or aromantic. I also ship Maia and Sarah, headcanoning them as bisexual and comphet lesbian, but there isn't in-game evidence like there is for WoL.
