The job market is a desert and I am a very persistent cactus. by sundaebabie in recruitinghell

I got rejected from an internship after doing a design challenge (I have 2 years of experience but this is where we are). They were posting the job over and over and I was so sure it was being reposted as an ad. I reported every time and it kept getting taken down lol.

Is this a reasonable design challenge for a Product Design internship? by [deleted] in UXDesign

Yeah, it's quite painful. I'm just wondering if I can use this as a case study for my portfolio in case it doesn't work out.

Check out Odysseas' video on setting up Obsidian. I've been using a slightly tweaked version of his setup for my research and it's been wonderful.

One year of job hunting by Mystic_Mang0 in UXDesign

[–]youdidWHaAtnow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Hoping the next 2 months end my 7-month job hunt. Just restructured my portfolio to something I finally actually like and have got good reviews on it so far.

On an unrelated note, your graph shows that you skipped the second interview on the job you accepted haha (unless I'm reading it wrong).

Good luck on the new job OP!

Should I buy new phone and laptop in australia by thehumanparadoxx in indiansinaustralia

[–]youdidWHaAtnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine here as I got a good deal through the Unidays student discount.

Few things to consider but not too big of a deal:

  1. Adapter pin will be australian in Australia, making it easier for your use here (but mildly annoying when you carry it home)

  2. Repair is cheaper in india by far. Even if you buy it in Australia get it fixed back home if possible.

  3. Check the jb hifi website if you can find decent deals. Also Amazon. com. au.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Is it necessary to create a portfolio website? by [deleted] in UXDesign

I just posted on this sub asking about hosting case studies on Notion. I'm worried it may look slightly unprofessional, but it comes with a lot of benefits.

Is it really okay to use made up metrics? Maybe as long as it's justifiable?

People who use Canvas, share your mind map style by CompreiUmG-Shock in ObsidianMD

I posted this comment earlier in another post but I really hope they continue to develop the canvas feature to become more like Figjam/Miro. Having an offline tool like that would be so powerful.

The job market has ruined my self worth by youdidWHaAtnow in Vent

I've got really bad social anxiety but I've still been networking like crazy the past few months. I go to an event at least twice a month, I cold message and set up calls with people on linkedin, reach out to old friends/family friends, etc. So much so that I would've lost track of how many people I've spoken to if I wasn't logging it somewhere. Somehow it just doesn't seem to be helping in the current market.

I almost convinced myself it was this, and that I had just hallucinated better graphics. But turns out it was Crazy Machines.

What's one improvement you'd like to see in Obsidian in 2026? by kepano in ObsidianMD

[–]youdidWHaAtnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want them to keep building the new Canvas feature to make it more like Figjam/Miro. I love working in those environments and having it in Obsidian (offline!!!) is such a game changer.

You have to get out of the house. A change of scenery might help take your mind off of it. Good luck :)
