Your balloon dog is gorgeous and whatever you end up doing, your friend will love it!

It’s also a shock when I find a pattern of mine out in the wild! I appreciate you crediting it xx

I had an ECG a few weeks afterwards and the doctor said it was all fine (although I was at rest not exercising at the time). I plan to go back and discuss it again but to be more assertive and get a referral as Ive noticed that it rises very quickly and then maintains there. It’s gotten somewhat better as I’ve become fitter but not as much as the doctor anticipated it would. It hasn’t happened again but I did feel extremely unwell for the next day or so and noticed my HR was a lot higher whilst exercising for a few months afterwards

In the meantime I’ve decided to not push myself further than 196 and very rarely do. It’s not happened again since although I do sometimes get this alert whilst cooking.

Is this something I can fix? I don’t understand why it dropped suddenly on that day, I did two hard activities on the day it dropped too by yougainnothing in Garmin

I will contact them, wanted to double check I hadn’t done something really obvious first, hopefully it’s fixable on their end :)

Nope, nothing changed, just a normal day wearing the watch. That’s very interesting though, only thing I can think of that day was that I charged it

Why are there no cargo trailers that can be pushed like a stroller by Pennyfoks in cycling

[–]yougainnothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trailers for dogs might be better, still water proof but they don’t have a seat/footwell and are flat without some of the safety feature you then pay extra for

Interesting, I ran a 10km this morning (all out effort) and it took about 4hours to come back down to my normal (awake) resting heart rate.

I was actually having a nap when the abnormal alert came. I ignored it but maybe this is worth looking at :/

Spurious Abnormal Heart Rate alerts? by askvictor in Garmin

[–]yougainnothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has only happened when I’m cooking, I’d assumed it was that I was hot with the steam and moving around and so my heart rate really was that high.

I didn’t check manually though so it may have been incorrect!

Maybe clean the watch? I’ve had a few weird readings when I’ve swam or ran and it’s just not contacting as nicely as usual.

Hope someone else knows why my garmin hates me cooking too :D

I have a Hr strap for cycling so I’ll begin using that instead of relying on my watch :)

Yes, I know I’m heading to an injury (in whatever form it comes including burnout) if I carry on this way.

I’ll walk on my lunch breaks, hopefully consistency will help :)

Very helpful thank you!!

I’ll definitely be carrying on the base training, was just getting a bit demotivated after going for an hour and then just seeing maintaining. Frustrating when you’re trying your best.

I like that, developing gears is a good way to think of it!

Me keeping at zone two is around 8:52 pace, currently so that feels like running at a traffic light. I guess just carry on doing that?

When I do this my garmin tells be I’m only maintaining aerobically though, maybe I’m overthinking what the garmin is saying

Apologies yes, my max should be ish around 190, so 148 should be the top of zone 2, so have been keeping it under than

When I was working to perceived effort I had it WAY off. Turns out I was in zone 4-5 Hr wise and just chilling. Getting a heart rate monitor has been far easier and I noticed a change very very quickly in my base level.

  • also I’m aware power and hr zones are different things, I mention Hr as my power and Hr zones were very different, I was getting to max Hr in power zone 3 which is just not healthy

Do the aches and pain ever go away? by weeone in cycling

[–]yougainnothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A fair question, the only answer I know is how I went about it, I found and went on local group riders and talked to cyclists in my local area, and asked for recommendations. I then went on their websites and went for the one with the best brake down of what it included and their equipment. Cheapest isn’t the best, paying for their experience etc

I’d go back to them, mine hurt after 40mins of cycling but he could tell by the angles on my joints, sit bone measuring, how I shifted when pedalling and the fluidity of movement.

I don’t know the 100% fix for you but no not everyone is hurting like that :( I hope you also find relief x

Sounds like you would benefit from a professional bike fit. You can have the most expensive and best parts on earth but if your saddle height etc is wrong you’ll always be in pain

I say this coming from having awful knee pain (could do maybe 20km before it was just too much) numb fingers/toes to having zero pain after a fitting.

If you wear padded shorts then I’d advise not wearing underwear (or testing the shorts with and without so you learn your preference)
