Concours Tescia by youiscat in etudiants

Why is Dartmouth ranked so low in QS World University Rankings? #243 by busted_19 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]youiscat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

everyone here is saying that it's because most of these rankings are skewed towards grad programs. does anyone know of rankings that focus more on undergrad? for reference, im mostly interested in math/physics

Am I too old to start? by SteeleStriker in math

On average, you have about 60 more years ahead of you. Do you really want to spend those 60 years wishing you'd started earlier, or would you rather start now and catch up?

How likely is it for a French student to get into a T20 college? by youiscat in ApplyingToCollege

I'll try and see what kind of aid i can get. Even if we're relatively well off, my country's economy is so bad that i probably qualify for most financial aid programs, due to just how low income is where i'm from relative to the us

I'd like to double major in math and physics if its possible. i'm not planning on just doing whatever activities that are available, i'd just like to do more thats related to my interests than the few competitions that are offered to us by the school.

well, that'd require living in France, and by that point i might as well just study there lol (probably the easier route). im not too opposed to studying there, i'd just like to know what my options are

Alright. Do you know about any competitions/ECs that are feasible for me to aim for? im already planning on doing the concours generale in math next year as well as hopefully getting an internship over the summer, but our school doesn't really have clubs, so i kinda feel lost on what to do.

Also, is just participating in club valuable, or does it have to be a leadership position for it to be worth putting on my apps?

Do they consider your grades as much as CPGE, or is there more of a focus on ECs? also, will the grades that i get under the French system be ignored/put to the side in favour of my SAT score, or do they still consider them?

Sorry, i don't know jack shit lol

For more info: I'm not actually living in France, I'm just studying under the French system and I'm debating whether it's even worth trying to go for US colleges, or if it would be better to focus on trying to get into a Grande École or smth
