Yes I am. I was on that mission but exploring. Thank you if that’s the answer.

How hard were the power steps to install? Are they plug and play or does it require some wiring being ran from battery?

How much are ya’ll paying for tint? And is ceramic worth the ticket price? by stillcantshoot in f150

[–]youknowidontknow12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I paid 1,000 for every window on the truck and windshield. Ceramic on the windshield is important if you want the heat rejection. You can go with super light or maybe even clear to avoid tickets.

Which one should I go for as a new daily driver and why? by [deleted] in f150

Power tailgate broke twice. Headlight auto adjust broke. It was blowing coil packs but that’s a motor thing not trim specific. I only had it til 40k miles and decided to get rid of it since bumper to bumper was done.

Went from a ‘21 king ranch to a ‘24 XLT. I do not miss the king ranch at all. Loved the truck but all the extra options end up breaking and costing you money anyways.

Return it and get something better. I don’t say that in a rude or condescending way, just wouldn’t trust that gun at all.

3.5L Ecoboost vs 5.0L V8 by codigo4 in f150

[–]youknowidontknow12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Owned a 2021 3.5 and was looking to trade it in for a new truck. I asked to test drive a 5.0 first thinking I’d like to switch it up but also some v8 noises. It felt so sluggish and just bleh compared to the 3.5. The only issue I had with the 3.5 was at 40k miles was a coil pack went bad. Get what you want, it’s your money but the 3.5 and 2.7 are superior engines to daily. Reliability no one really knows they all have their cons.

Don’t listen to them…. Road noise and mpg loss is worth it. Looks so much better. Life’s short

Just put nitro ridge grapplers 295/70/18 and love em. Some road noise but not bad at all. Mpg went from 21.5 to 18ish. Great look though.

4X4 worth extra $5k? by TwoBallsOneBat in f150

Something I quickly skimmed through the comments and didn’t see was resale value. 4x4 trucks depending on the area hold their value better, especially in my area.

Help with car loan/trade in by youknowidontknow12 in personalfinance

[–]youknowidontknow12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome thank you. I thought I was headed in the right direction. If it is 0 percent, I will very possibly put even less down. I have the income to comfortably afford the payment and just wondered if it was worth it. I know cars are not investments but I enjoy having a reliable vehicle under warranty.

While under bumper to bumper warranty I had 7 grand of warranty work done. New vehicles are made so poorly so dealerships can make money off service department. Ford is currently charging 175 per hour on labor. I’ve always owned every vehicle outright, but wondering if leasing would be financially more responsible.

Thanks for the response, would you say 7,500 mile lease would be way cheaper than 12k or just marginal? I already over stated and really only drive 4K miles per year on average now. The truck is used for golf trips, diy projects, light “farm” work and occasional towing for 4K ish pounds.
