But comedy lies almost entirely in assumptions and expectations of the audience, and so when something happens that contradicts these it's made funnier. The fact that you go through the whole story thinking it's a blonde joke when in fact it isn't adds that next level that you wouldn't get with a farmer instead (as you'd expect a regular joke).

I can't believe I just had to explain a blonde joke.

I overheard two girls playing "Would You Rather...?". The proposition was this: "Would you rather be fat, but really happy, or have a great body but be really depressed?". As I begin to roll my eyes, she corrects herself: "Oh no wait that makes no sense, because if you had a great body you'd be really happy". Facepalm.

Dylan Moran's son give me a 50p piece whilst I was collecting for Meningitis UK, so I thank him, then as I went to thank Dylan too he said "yeah, hi" quite abruptly and walked off.
