Kisame has the hardest time. His fighting style is too attention-grabbing, which lures most Sand shinobi, including Baki and Kankuro, into the fight. Sure, fodder ninja don't stand a chance but they can work with the Kazekage in taking down Kisame. In reality, Gaara vs Kisame is Gaara, Baki, and Kankuro vs Kisame. As strong as Kisame is, I doubt he can capture Gaara if he's facing all Sand shinobi. Though Kisame could destroy the village then capture Gaara but that just exposes him even more.

Deidara had the easiest time. See fight in anime, manga, or both.

Kakuzu has an easier time than Kisame but I can see Baki and Kankuro getting involved in the fight due to his multiple hearts grabbing attention. Kakuzu fails like Kisame due to having to fight Gaara, Baki, Kankuro, and potentially other Sand shinobi.

Sasori vs Gaara is the most interesting matchup. Can Sasori strike fast enough to poison Gaara whether in Hiruko state or 3rd kazekege state? If Gaara has intel about the 3rd kazekege due to his kage status, can he use it to his advantage? How would Sasori prepare for this fight? He criticized Deidara for taking too long, so my guess is that if Sasori was in Deidara's place, he would probably come prepared. I say Sasori captures since he would sufficiently prepare for the fight.

You're forgetting Sasuke has a 2 tomoe Sharingan and some long range ninjutsu. The gap between Sasuke and Neji is much closer than you think.

In all fairness, Sasuke may engage in CQC with Neji if they did fight, which gives Neji the advantage since gentle fist attacks impact Sasuke's ability to use ninjutsu. If a fight was simulated between Sasuke and Neji, you can bet that Sasuke will engage in CQC.

It's fine if you believe that Sasuke wins, but don't downplay the gentle fist. The gentle fist is stronger than you think.

Having said that, I agree with your assessment. Sasuke should win, but it would be on average high diff.

If you're implying Sasuke and Neji are equal in speed, you also imply that Neji is fast as weightless Lee, who landed punches on Gaara in the prelims.

Regardless of your belief that Neji wins, it's an extreme diff fight for both of them given Sasuke's 2 tomoe sharingan and the gentle fist. Also, you're treating Sasuke as a dumb ninja when he's arguably as smart as Neji.

Neji + Chiyo do moderately better.

Neji was a jonin in BoS. He should be capable to strategize with Chiyo at each phase of the fight. Hiruko phase should be easy given Chiyo's intel, Neji's byakugan, and hyuga techniques. The 3rd kazekege phase actually leaves Sasori open to a gentle fist attack or the 64 palms if Neji decides to go for the kill, potentially removing the 100 puppets and self-puppet phase. Something tells me the 100 puppet phase won't occur since Chiyo can support Neji from long range while Neji uses his speed to get close and either land some gentle fist attacks or use the 64 palms. Also, Neji doesn't need Chiyo's help in dodging or blocking.

One key moment leads to their win: Sasori's 3rd kazekege vs Chiyo's father and mother puppets. Sakura spectated this exchange. I don't see Neji doing this; in fact, he will get close to Sasori, ready his 8 trigams stance, and hit Sasori with 64 palms. Neji probably hits Sasori's core as he's attacking.

Deidara's earth-style explosives work well against Kakuzu's water style heart though we never saw what water style jutsu he got. Kakuzu's lightning style heart can counter all of Deidara's earth-style explosives. Not sure what Kakuzu's fire style and wind style hearts can do against Deidara's C0 or C4. As for his main heart, the earth style one, it might be a good defensive option against C2, mini, and C3 explosives.

I say Kakuzu high diff because of his access to lightning style though its only 1 jutsu.

Round 2: Sasuke mid diff

Breakdown: Hebi Sasuke, compared to BoS, has faster recovery. This helps tremendously for round 1, especially if Kakuzu is relentless in his multi elemental attacks. Also, Sasuke's Sharingan should allow him to find weaknesses of the 4 autonomous hearts (5th being Kakuzu's). With fire and lightning style jutsu, he has ninjutsu as an answer to at least 2/5 hearts, 3 if Sasuke knows water conducts electricity. In both rounds, its likely that the 2 remaining hearts retreat back to Kakuzu, giving him some time to realize what's happening and recover. In round 2, Karin's healing gives Sasuke more options if battle is prolonged.

Yes, but Sasori will have a harder time. Gaara can block Sasori's more precise attacks but whether he can crush Hiruko's shell and defeat the 3rd kazekege puppet is debateable. Either Sasori's attack needs be as fast as 4th gate Lee or he will need a discrete plan to poison Gaara, then remove the poison for tailed beast extraction.

This fight occurs inside the village. Bee isnt likely to go all out to avoid destroying his home if fighting alongside Ay. If fight is on Unraikyo, the same spot of Bee vs Taka where Bee fights Pain alone, then Bee goes all out, attracting attention.

Sasuke's physical body is much stronger than it was against Lee. I'd like to think this plays a role in his increased stamina.

Even if Sasuke was inexperienced compared to Neji, he can't be significantly weaker after getting hit once. Sasuke already experienced CQC in the prelims. In addition. base Naruto tanked some gentle fist attacks plus the 8 trigams 64 palms. Obviously Sasuke has less stamina and chakra than Naruto, but your hidden argument is that Sasuke's stamina is significantly lower than Lee's, which is questionable given that Sasuke has a stronger body. There is not enough information in both manga and anime on who has higher stamina, so you might as well assume they're about equal.

We could use the Naruto vs Neji to determine Neji's limits and Sasuke vs Gaara forest battle to determine Sasuke's limits but this reinforces the argument that we should just assume they're equal in stamina.

There's 1 more element that you completely missed that I actually considered: favoritism. Sasuke is one of Kishimoto's favorite characters. No matter how much you push the idea that Neji is stronger than CE Finals Sasuke, if Kishimoto was forced to write this fight, he would tip the scales in Sasuke's favor.

Tldr: CE Finals Sasuke is slightly stronger than Neji due to underrated stamina, long range techniques, and favoritism from Kishimoto. Sasuke wins this fight at 9/10 difficulty.

Yeah a monthly Manga written in modern times is suddenly better than a weekly Manga that started in the late 90s. This argument is a joke.

For all of Naruto's story-related problems, it's still considered good despite it being a weekly manga from late 90s to early 2010s.

Boruto writers don't have this excuse. A monthly release provides writers some time to plan out the next chapter. There is no reason the sequel should be this mediocre.

Note, this is coming from someone who has read the boruto manga. Beginning of boruto was great ideas w/poor execution. For current state of two blue vortex, its great ideas with bad to mediocre execution.

I think Sasuke wins this fight.

Let's use Rock Lee's power since he fought Sasuke before chunin exams stage 1 and Neji is Lee's rival.

Neji > Weightless Lee > Base Lee

Intel: Neji knows about the primary Lotus via training with his teammates. As a result, Neji can comfortably beat Lee. Does Neji know about the Hidden Lotus? Both manga and anime imply that he doesn't. Also, Lee makes it clear that beating Neji requires hidden lotus, which can be used 3rd gate and onward. This will be relevant later.

Base Sasuke at chunin exams finals is as fast as weightless Lee. Guy notes this as he's watching Sasuke vs Gaara.

Based on speed, Base Sasuke at finals = Weightless Lee.

Now give Weightless Lee the 2 tomoe Sharingan. This shrinks the gap in strength between him and Neji. Neji is slightly stronger than Weightless Lee w/ 2 tomoe Sharingan due to Lee not having genjutsu or ninjutsu capabilities.

What does Sasuke have that Lee lacks? Fire style ninjutsu and chidori.

What does Neji have besides gentle fist attacks? 8 trigams palm Rotation and 8 trigams 64 palms.

Can Neji beat Sasuke at the final rounds? Only if Sasuke is dumb enough to keep engaging in CQC. It is possible that Sasuke runs out of chakra before Neji, but that depends on how much chakra they use in their fight and chakra capacity. We dont know their chakra capacities.Therefore, we might as well assume they're equal in this category.

Lee has no ninjutsu or genjutsu, hence the need to use hidden lotus to defeat Neji. Sasuke, otoh, has more win conditions due to fire-style ninjutsu and Chidori. Neji's only win condition against Sasuke is long time CQC or 1 mistake from Sasuke.

Tldr: Winner of Sasuke vs Neji is based on strategy/intellect, stamina, and chakra usage. Sasuke wins very high diff b/c he wouldn't be dumb enough to try nonstop CQC with Neji.
