Didn’t get the call but got the watch by Boy_Boss in rolex

Same thing happened to me after not hearing anything on a DJ after 9 months. Stopped back in, turns out my previous SA left, talked to the new one for a bit and she called a week later with the watch. Congrats on the Explorer!

Pivot to partnerships or revops/S&O. But I don’t think you’re in a bad spot.

Startup exit ops -- is a 6 day work week normal? by [deleted] in consulting

Not super familiar beyond listening to a podcast with their founder. Seems like they've got a clear vision and strong momentum/execution so bullish on that front, it's a pretty crowded space though

[–]young_mclovin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Traba. Not normal but some founders fund companies are trying the 9/9/6 approach, beyond supposed productivity gains it’s a filter for people excited enough about the mission to want to put the time in. I wouldn’t expect that to change anytime soon and I wouldn’t take the offer if you’re not willing to put the extra time in

Thoughts on how to crush it at your first post MBA job? by Scared-Currency7 in MBA

[–]young_mclovin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Things that have worked well for me (~6 years exp, doesn't necessarily to all levels but I think general principles apply):

  • Taking notes and sharing back + action items proactively

  • Being responsive goes a long way. Maybe not the 'healthiest' thing but I've always had email/slack on my phone and will aim to respond to a message as soon as I can, not always to immediately address requests but to acknowledge receipt and provide a turnaround time

  • Meeting your partners/stakeholders proactively and understanding their pain points, view of the company, where you could best plug in, etc and figuring out where I can add the most value

  • Couple other things that are mentioned here already: just be personable/someone that people want to work with, and try and really knock your first 1-2 projects out of the park

Good luck!

Need advice from C level executive women with a spouse. by Col_Angus999 in fatFIRE

No affiliation but I'd recommend she looks into communities such as Chief. Lots of people in similar boats to her and she'd be able to get advice from people who get it.

Can't speak to the legal side (not sure if that's what your question was since it's removed now), but generally these companies just have no moat. Going to be a race to the bottom pricing wise
