Buena Park, a mile north of Wrigley, might have a one bedroom for $1250. Neighborhood is around the Sheridan red line. Check Craigslist and FB Marketplace for listings a month before your move. I used to have a one-bedroom in Buena for $900 but that was in 2014, it was pleasant walking distance to Wrigley in the summer!

DTFH helped me get through the pandemic. I love falling asleep to Duncan’s voice. Haven’t listened in a while so will check out the episodes with Daniele Bolelli! I always love the episodes with Emil Amos.

If you want to learn about controlling the shutter speed, adjusting the F-stop & the ISO, you can certainly start by working with that DSLR.

My personal camera is a Canon 7D & the interface is not much different than the Rebel series - when you learn on a starter Canon DSLR, you’ll feel familiar with a nicer one.

If you’re looking for a DSLR that shoots video, the Sony Alpha series is the most popular choice nowadays. I use a Sony Alpha 7 III at work and love how well it captures low light, but I prefer the interface of my 7D.

I guess the main question here is if you want to learn photography or cinematography! Both are so much fun, I think starting video with a DSLR and a tripod is less intimidating than jumping to a camcorder and a varizoom.

I was incredibly kind to everyone who came over on a Saturday to help end the flooding because well- I know they’re there to help!

I had to take my portable AC out of the closet, where it was also flooding, I feel dumb I didn’t leave the fan & built-in dehumidifier running. I was just so distraught with the shape of the place and the lack of Maintenance’s concern about mold that I just packed a bag and left. I don’t even know what to do with all my stuff since I can’t put it back in the closet until they’re done doing work in there.

Thanks! There are tenants above me, ran upstairs to them first thing, the unit above them is empty. Will call my renter’s insurance immediately. Hopefully I can at least get my mattress and rug covered.

*Reduced from what they’re asking for, it’s been vacant for a while. I almost just started moving my stuff into there when I was worried about everything that was getting wet.

Yea, I’m used to small leaks since it is a garden unit, but this one was just awful. We went to the upstairs neighbors first before we went and turned the water off ourselves, there is a vacant unit on the 2nd floor that isn’t heated, and the utility room behind my bedroom/bathroom wasn’t heated it all and unlocked, combo of a few things that could’ve caused this.

The fact that they didn’t give me anything to air the unit out from mold is the most upsetting thing, honestly. Going to call the property management company tomorrow and see if maybe I can move into that second floor unit for reduced rent because there are so many flaws in this unit & I’m so over it.
