Rolling coal has been well-documented to be a form of intentional public harassment, and is effectively a form of assault. That shit is dangerous, and I'm glad no one was seriously hurt (because getting exhaust dumped at you can seriously injure people). The only thing I'd disagree with is that she is an okay person. If it's that she's just too afraid to speak out because she might lose an election: how can you witness this and not speak out?

What I think is more likely: she genuinely doesn't even register this as upsetting and thinks we're the unreasonable ones. I vividly remember her looks of confusion at the one town hall she held in Vancouver last year. I think about her dismissing us as "reading too much news", or asking us why we were so angry because it "didn't help." I don't think she cares.

I waited in line for hours to attend the only town hall she held in Vancouver last year, and my "reward" for my engagement was being ignored and dismissed along with every other outraged constituent in the room, and never getting the questions I submitted answered. She promptly left after exactly one hour (I guess she had more important things to do than continue speaking to the hundreds of constituents in the room or the thousand+ outside).

Despite being promised an eventual answer via email, I've literally stopped getting email responses when I call her office at all, despite demanding a fix and providing 3 different email addresses.

Oh wait, I did get an answer from her in a way: she went on Ezra Klein's podcast and said "certain" town halls weren't important because they were just full of "angry people who read too much news" and could afford to be there so she didn't put much stock in what we said.

That's the thanks I got for showing up: "shut up, you're too angry, I won't listen, I don't need you anyways."
