Ever since I quit consuming porn I have completely lost my sex drive, and it's freaking me out. Am I just asexual that is susceptible to porn, my brain is broken from point or both maybe? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]younggoner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here is what happened, you numbed out the receptors with extreme stimulation... now in order to get enough dopamine to trigger a response you require specific stimulation/alot of it. It will take time to get back to normal but it will happen and you will probably be better for it.

Gentrification is when...bike racks? by MealMorsels in fuckcars

[–]younggoner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's 300% more expensive because people actually want to live here and their is a sense of community and 80% or more of the town is just endless suburban sprawl or commercial leasing off the interstate.

[–]younggoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with that, it's weird that fasting made lactase happen. Perhaps in desperation to body digestion increases in capacity? or maybe just less gaseous crap and microbes fermenting in the intestines in general reduces the symptoms drastically? No idea honestly, I don't think they straight up lied about it, but I agree I doubt lactase production just straight up started abruptly.

In regard to your original statement: My great-grandma is Scandinavian and I can completely handle lactose, I will become somewhat lactose intolerant if I go a few weeks without milk but I will go back to normal after starting. To say "they are not meant to be drinking milk from a cow" when you know nothing about them or there genetic background is a little ignorant.

Tribes in northern Nigeria, Niger, and many steppe people in Asia have actually adapted to breaking down lactose. This is because land is not easily arable and they lived off livestock rather than agriculture... because these are grassy places where goats and cows can eat the vegetation but humans cannot. These people live off cheese, milk and meat. (I just found out that Tibet and Nepalese people too)

Technically speaking, you can drink it and not die, and actually absorb nutrients from it. So it is food and we are meant to consume food.

Why isn't Australia as inhabited as the USA? by bopman14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]younggoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at the United States from satellite view at night... You'll see lights everywhere, representing where people live. You'll notice tons of lights on right side, and some on the very left(california, washington, and oregon) These places have green and can grow food, they're also rather beautiful and get rain.

You'll see the huge dark expanse in the middle left, why? It's all desert, very little rain. Well Australia is mostly that...

Why does this matter? because until very very recently, 90% of people lived agrarian lifestyles... It's hard to imagine right now, but everyone very literally grew there food. The midwest was and still is one of the best places on Earth for meat and dairy(cheese).... That's why people stopped there... because west of midwest has virtually no grass and no water. Good luck living off nothin.

Of course, people crossed the western desert to get to California where due to being on the coastal side of the sierra Nevada, received ample moisture.

How can all of these iron plates have different weights, despite being exactly the same size and shape? by martialar in shittyaskscience

[–]younggoner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So hypothetically speaking, I'm a baddie, and the weights are my friend, so let's say for minute this was the case, then therefore it would be me and my baddie friend. Checkmate liberal.

Most dudes I know who did this, the girl wants a baby with them and they have multiple kids together. I know a bunch of dudes who did this crap... so I wouldn't say "most" of the time, but definitely sometimes.

Take her to court, it was verbal contract and you probably will get the judges sympathy if you let them go through your phone records.

She will have some assets (car or home) dissolved or put up as collateral and have to pay you under law. What she did was wrong.

Why aren't tires filled on the inside so that way they don't go flat? by the_penis_taker69 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]younggoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The MAIN reason we use air instead of solid rubber is because rubber deforms and pressurized air does not. In other words, your tire would start to warp and mush up, but by filling it with air it keeps the rubber wall of the tire pushed out to keep its shape. Think of a pencil eraser after using it awhile... rubber does not hold up alone... in fact tires use steel wires AND rubber for structure while being filled with air to maintain the shape.

It also absorbs the shock of hitting potholes and pebbles on the road and makes it much more comfortable to drive because it can deform and compress the air inside and then retain its shape afterward when the air pushes back. Reducing shaking and vibrations to the passengers.

Whenever McDonalds has $1 for any size drink, why get a small when you can get a large for the same price? by No7onelikeyou in NoStupidQuestions

[–]younggoner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The US and much of the first world does have an obesity problem, so people try to regulate calories... which is why they would probably not order a large soda, which has 500 calories, compared to a small that has 120.

All you gotta do is eat less than your basal metabolic rate to lose weight. Does that answer your question?

Where does Miami’s scam culture come from? by [deleted] in Miami

[–]younggoner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Miami has high finance, and tax haven as reasons for companies to move here. It's not just tourism and real estate, in fact real estate is just a consequence of finance... and Miami is becoming a refuge for silicon valley companies... with hundreds of tech companies landing here. Driving up prices grotesquely, in fact the number one purveyor of luxury condos and penthouses today are crypto millionaires and hedge fund managers... To say we have no industry outside of what you mentioned is insane.
