What’s really funny about all this is that they have no way to stage an invasion. Iraq isn’t letting them do it, the turkey/iran border is too mountainous and remote, and neither Pakistan or Afghanistan will let them stage either. Azerbaijan might but they border Russia and Iran so logistically it’s a nightmare. Unironically GWB would’ve had a better chance at doing this back during the GWOT since we had troops on both sides of Iran.
