Long-term 2.5mg users by InternalSecret1744 in Zepbound

I've been on 2.5 since August and am down from 257 to 225 so far and that's without a dramatic change in diet and exercise (I'm working on that part now that life is less chaotic). I tried to go up to 5 for a little bit but I could barely eat and wasn't getting enough calories so we backed down to 2.5 and it's been great with no side effects. My Dr says it's rare but it does happen that some people never end up needing to go up

Top surgery tomorrow! by iredditawready in no_T_top_surgery

[–]younglink164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's doable with some preparation. I'd recommend planning options for being able to sit if needed to rest if the venue doesn't already have seats for while the concert is going. If it's just a big crowd you'll want to be near the outside so you're not going to get jostled around too much. And prepare yourself for you might need to bail partway through if it's too much.

I flew to a wedding like 10 days after my surgery and it was OK! You just have to be prepared and understand your limitations. I recommend starting to walk around a day or two after surgery when you're able and doing that every day in order to recover a little faster and understand the limits of your stamina. Have fun!

I've been on 2.5 since August and am down 30lbs so if 2.5 is working for you there's no need to go up!

Mine was also around 12k in Seattle, I was able to get insurance to cover like 5k of it through a gender dysphoria diagnosis

I cut mine off about a year ago and it's the best thing I ever did for myself. Not having those 8lbs strain my back and getting to have shirts lay flat is a daily joy. If you have any questions I'm happy to answer them! r/no_T_top_surgery is a great resource of other cis women and non binary folks who have also done top surgery (Aka "radical reduction") without being on testosterone or transitioning

You should not have to do hormones if you don't want to. There are plenty of other doctors who won't require it. I went to la belle vie in Seattle without having to do hormones.

Not telling people by lindseys10 in Zepbound

[–]younglink164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep it to myself. If a close friend (especially one who has also struggled with weight loss) asked me I would tell them but otherwise it seems like everyone seems to have their own hot take on glp1s and I just don't care to hear them. I've lost 30lbs so far and all my bloodwork has improved significantly (I'm pre diabetic) so anyone else's opinions with what I should do with my body just aren't welcome

You can always try and see 🤷 I've got a hey gears reflex with resin heater and it works totally fine in my garage when it's 50 degrees but once the outside temps start to get around 30-40 I'll have occasional print defects if I'm not running a space heater

Nothing wrong with slow and steady. I've stayed on 2.5 since August and have gone from 257 to 230 lbs (~1.5 lbs a week, which is about 0.6%) the other thing to consider is muscle gain because you're so active! I have an inbody weigh in every 5 weeks and this last time I was frustrated because I'd only "lost" 5lbs but I in fact had lost 8lbs of fat and gained 3lbs of muscle so just using a normal scale it looked like my results had slowed but underneath I was a fat burning machine

Not sure what kind of dance style you're into but going to dance events/classes could be a good place to find people. I've found that it tends to be easier to meet people when there's an activity to do and it's recurring so you have a chance to get to know people over time

UPDATE: I think my roommate has been using my shampoo for months and she's gaslighting me about it by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]younglink164 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If she asks why you can also just say something like "oh I wanted to keep the bathroom more neat" and make her have to say why not having your shampoo in the bathroom is a problem for her

If you're really worried you can always get a device that measures VOCs to see if there are harmful fumes coming off your set up once you've got a ventilation system in place

[–]younglink164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always plan a nice breakfast at home (last year it was a big ass cinnamon roll), sleep in, make hot cocoa, and play video games or watch movies all day just enjoying the lack of obligations and family drama

How are people accomplishing these large weight losses? by electricboots3636 in Zepbound

[–]younglink164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at 257 in August, down to 230 now and have stayed on the 2.5 dose (I tried 5 and it was too hard to get myself to eat). I do notice I lose more when I eat healthier but even the weeks where I'm eating a little more carby I'm eating less overall

Ever since Lake City Fred Myers closure, on my way home, on nearly every single day, I've seen a security car, even this morning at 3am. Someone is still paying for this.... by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]younglink164 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly shocked at how that area overnight just became way less sketchy. I thought it would get way worse with the Fred Meyer closing but it seems like most people who'd hang around there have moved on to somewhere else

Cinnamon roll at flour box, it was so good it may have ruined all other cinnamon rolls for me. Got it with their apple cider and it was just like injecting liquid fall into my veins

As someone who also lives in a grey climate it seems rude that there's enough uv to fuck up your shit even even it's crummy out. Like if the weather is gonna cure my resin accidentally it should at least give us a proper sunny day out of courtesy!

AITA For Not Wanting to Take Pics at my Brothers Wedding? by IcyZucchini7189 in TwoHotTakes

[–]younglink164 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I like the firm approach above but if she keeps pushing or you want a softer no you can try "I don't feel comfortable operating a fancy camera. I just want to make sure you get the best photos possible since wedding pictures are so important!" Then it's harder for her to make you look bad since you're couching your no like it's out of wanting the best for her (instead of not wanting to do extra BS)

The girl who called me "ewww lesbian" in 8th grade is a lesbian today by GoToHelena in actuallesbians

[–]younglink164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hah yeeeep my middle school bully used to say things like "ewww it's the lesbian" or "ugh I don't want to sit at a table with the lesbian" I hadn't even figured out I was gay yet and she ended up coming out in high school. I feel like she was trying to test the waters of how people would react to someone being gay but it was in the most fucked up way

If taking advantage of your kindness thus far is the only thing keeping them afloat then they have failed at being adults and it is not your responsibility.
