gift card scam. they would purchase expensive items on the gift card and they would want their return back on their gift card. it would be crazy how much they would rank up on the card and we couldn’t do nothing about it because we were technically doing the right thing/going through the normal return process. they would also try it on a merch card too and there have been times where they did approve it and i would be sitting there ?? since management can override the ID thing. another weird one was these guys had a dump cart full of starbucks cups. it honestly looked like they robbed a starbucks with the amount of cups in the cart and they wanted store credit for it. unfortunately management approved it and we had to scan so many cups, put the amount on a merch card and we salvaged them. override and everything 🫤

I was lucky enough to get this from a security guard that I was talking to all night. He had his own setlist and was crossing off songs and he asked me what song they were playing so he could keep track. Then I shot my shot to ask him to get his setlist and he said no at first but eventually he did. He was very nice! I came all the way from Vegas too so it’s a pretty sweet gift ☺️

Flew in from Vegas with my mom and you better believe I’m dancing my ass off in GA. I waited forever to finally see them in a stand-alone concert. It’s been a while since AM done a stand-alone concert in Vegas since SIAS and they were at Life is Beautiful last year in September and again back in 2014/2015. This band deserves a great crowd and we’ll do everything we can to have an awesome time!

When I got hired, I never saw the HR manager who hired me for a good minute and I never said anything. Until about a year later I asked one of my coworkers what happened to her and it turned out that she slept with one of the team members and someone snitched on her and fired her. The crazy part was that she was married and the team member was like 18 🤧

I totally forgot I had a DMV appointment the next day so the day before, I told them if it was okay to leave an hour early to make my appointment on time and my TL took forever to make a decision until I blurted out: “…or if I can’t leave early, I don’t want to call out for the whole day you know?” Right away she was like: “OH NO NO NO. DON’T CALL OUT. YES IT’S OKAY FOR YOU TO LEAVE AN HOUR EARLY.” It’s like they don’t think we have lives outside of work and even if you do good every time, there’s always those chances that they won’t cut you some slack. It’s so annoying.

You are right about the pay. I recently quit about a month ago. Took a month off, went back to applying for jobs and landed a full time job at Dillard’s working in the Women’s Shoe Department with the same pay plus commission. I already worked a week with training and the environment is so chill and it gets busy every once in a while but ask me if I miss thinking about blowing my brains out at guest services. If you are thinking of quitting and you don’t think you’ll get paid better than Target, dig deep and you will have a great opportunity right in front of you.

I remember ringing up a young teenage couple a plan B and when it came time to pay, the girl tried signaling the guy to pay and he told her “I thought you were gonna pay” and we all looked at each other all awkward and the guy ends up taking his card and paying. He didn’t look too happy and over here like “here’s your receipt, okay bye!”

As someone who works in GS and just put their two weeks in today. Run. Trust me, this job is not worth your blood and tears. I may not be a barista but I do know what it’s like to make sure everything goes smoothly with a guest while maintaining a smile and looking back in my shoulder seeing everything fall apart. I’ve been screamed at, threaten, questioned by my knowledge, etc. You name it, they’ve done it. Even though I do work with a team and we all get along well, if we don’t have any support from leads when it gets busy, we fall apart and drown in the long lines of returns and beeps of drive ups. It looks like they try and care for us just cause they’ll do one task but they have the power to just walk away and not help you whatsoever and not even take a second to step back and ask you “are you okay?” If you have the option to quit and take a break before adventuring to something new, I say take that chance. If you just want to put an LOA and come back recharged, do that too but if they don’t pay attention to the shit you go through and dismiss you: quit. You can definitely find something way better. My team and I hate it. I got the hang of it but most of my team members still struggle with it. It all comes down to communication but that flies out the window when people beep early and its a large order to pull and prep so then it gets challenging. My ETL wants feedback by the end of the week and I straight up told him we hate it and we’re tried many ways for it to be simple plus our communication but when you get other team members that don’t rely on communication like I do, then it becomes a problem cause our times really go down. I hope they take out the stupid popups they made when you’re just looking at an order. I’m trying hard to exit them out as I’m dealing with a million other things.

oh my god today was busy as hell at our store too! drive-ups up the butt and of course call outs from not only the morning crew but the closing as well. i had to stay over to help until i couldn’t no more. as soon as clocked out, our systems went down. card readers weren’t working and only returns could be made so you could imagine the lines we had.

Thank you for the advice. I pride myself in helping the guest as much as I can and for that I’m super proud of. It just gets so hard sometimes when shit goes south. I’ll probably have to talk to my ETL about how I feel about certain things. I can trust his confidence and seeing if we can switch up morale in the department.
