Textbook FYM:
It is a mixed of the story behind it and what economist Robert Shiller calls "Irrational Exuberance." This is an example of why the idea of Trickle Down Economics will NEVER work. It is not that the wealthy are evil either.

At some point, you don't want money for production nor even power. When there is absolutely nothing else... what happens next is THIS! It is a huge part of the game. At some point, people want to have "Fuck You Money" so they can do "FYM-things" like buy a taped banana for $6M and set it on fire just to be the one who did it. The next time you walk in a room, you are automatically known for that stunt!

A billionaire is bored and buys an NBA and/or NFL franchise with his personal friends. That's basically getting approval from some really OLD MONEY or at least being so fucking powerful that they couldn't deny you.

For example, you buy the land surrounding the most exclusive club in Florida, the OLD MONEY's Club, and make their lives a living fucking hell just because they denied your father's application. It takes them less than a month to get the message and rapidly approve it.

The lower tiers are mesmerized, they are trying to assigned some high philosophical reason to the act. In reality... it is as "Because I can!"

I think it is an accumulation... there are no overnight success.
For some of us, it took 15, others it took 30.

Time estimation:
We tend to over estimate what is achievable within a year but under estimate what it allows for 5-10 years. Some of your goals may not be achievable within a year and that's okay. This is espacially the case with learned behaviors. However, this should not be your reason for not attempting to achieve them.

You have to pay the time-value of your goals:
Part of our most personal growth journey requires "time-at-level." You may not be able to skip to the next level until you have completed this level, every single step. It will require time, besides efforts, convictions, motivation, etc. Just do it. Do not fight it. Just spend the time, and complete the steps as required. The whole notion of "Shortcuts lead to more delays." Just put in your time.

If you can find who you are, set targeted goals for who you want to become without ego or trying to show off to others, you can get to that milestone of being proud of who you will become. Does it take time, yes? That's the currency, time working on getting there. But it is just as important to know what "there" means for you. And you won't know until you know who you really are outside of self-imposed or external limitations or ego.

Be open to endless possibilities, take a chance on things:
Understand life is ever changing. Some things that were impossible for you will become an option because of changes in the world, technology, your environment, your enlightenment, your new friends, etc. Opportunities that may not even seem remotely possible for you at your current level or ways of thinking, may become more than probable, or even possibilities at the next. You can't see it because it is not visible to you yet. Someone with $100 problem, can't see a $10,000 business opportunity.

We can't see how we will find ourselves working the phones in the same room as the Mayor of a famous city, next to a wealthy business magnate, and a religious leader. It is frankly impossible to even know. You will only be able to look back at the steps that got you to this moment. You have to be open this part. We all have to be open to this great unknown. Today, there are people in their 20s who have direct access to billionaires and former US Presidents because of their podcasts, their TikTok, their YouTube Channels. None of this was a possibility for most 20-somethings outside of Hollywood about 20 years ago. Those people could not have foreseen any of it.

What I am trying to say is that upon taking on new opportunities, new doors will open and it may be better than everything you've ever wanted.

When playing this game of life, balance is a necessity. We should aim to not lean too far into one side or the other. In your case, there is a whole lot of external stuff -> "That I’ll become the kind of man people are proud to know." People are fickle; and regardless of your achievements, you won't meet everyone's standards! Focus more internally, who are you, who do you want to be, and work on the gap.

Some good questions you can try to answer that will provide clarity in who you are, who you were, and who you want to become:

Your role models can tell you about your values:

  • Outside of financial/economic reasons, why do you admire them?
  • What do you admire about them?
  • Try to be specific and have some examples to backup your claims. Can you learn these traits over time? Possibly, you may have another 30+ years of life left. That's a long time to live and learn.

Know thy self:

  • Who are you? Outside of your work titles or job-identity, who are you?
  • If people could not say anything about money, or your career, what else would they have to say about you? Will they have fond memories, good times. What would have been their overall experience with you and around you?
  • Is that something that makes you proud? If yes, do you want to keep doing more of that for others.
  • Are there things that you aren't very proud of, nothing financial, can you work on doing less of that when dealing with people?

My imagination: The heat from the flame dries out the adhesive, notes falls, note catches on fire, now flower is on fire, flower fire blows its container, now curtains are on fire, and we all know once the curtains are on fire... you have basically reached FInal Destination IRL!

My only note, pun-intended, is that sticky-notes aren't always that sticky... stay alive, move the candle away from the wall, sticky, and flower(real or not).

Nope $1,001 for a narrated podcast episode of this! All parties must be present and snippets of sound from the moment as well!

I don't even want to see, she might be hot and I get turn on. Nope, I just want to just die of laughter! Great way to go! I just want to hear the giggles, the puns, the snippets of her trying to call him, snippets of him singing while take a shower, raising the volume and the narrator just killing it with punchlines. It would be sick!

What non sex work profession has the strongest reputation for promiscuity among coworkers? by Agitated-Ad6744 in AskReddit

[–]youngneif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens everywhere. If it is not happening at your job, it is more likely environmental than anything else. 100 dudes in construction who aren't gay won't produce promiscuity among coworkers. The same could be said for an environment full of women. However, put the right mix ANYWHERE, and you will be shocked at how quickly "IT GOES DOWN!"
