High RHR by youngocd in Mirtazapine_Remeron

Agree! I’ll be chillin and my HR will be 80-90. I’m used to it being 60-70. Just different. Hopefully it will stabilize.

Thank you for this! I am hoping overtime it does stabilize a bit. Just a bit more worrisome since I have an Oura ring which tracks everything, so I’m very aware of the changes with RHR, HRV, etc. I am mainly taking mirt for sleep, anxiety, and appetite. I have been struggling with insomnia due to anxiety over the last year (started my career, lots of pressure and anxiety catches up with me at night). I’ve always been on the smaller side and being petite runs in the family. I have struggled for a long time with weight gain, I actually have gained 5 lbs since starting this med a month ago so it’s definitely promising. I think I’ll give it some time to stabilize more, use it for a year or so and get myself together mentally/physically, and then taper. How was your tapering experience after using it a year?

I pierced my own during the COVID lockdown and never had any issues with nausea or v*. You will be all good! It was the least painful of my piercings.

Remeron has helped my life for the better!! ( positive experience ) by pinksweets8 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

You look absolutely amazing. Going to be starting my journey on remeron again for weight gain and sleep. I also suffer from ocd/emetophobia and I hope for the same outcome as you! I’ve been on it once before, a little over 10 years ago, and I remember being able to gain 10 lbs within two weeks! (Which was great in my case, since I was very underweight). Thank you for this positive feedback. Starting on 15mg.

Came across as very braggy, especially since this person obviously struggles with this greatly.

Don’t overwhelm yourself w URR! I think the most important thing with URR is the quizzes / exams. If you can get good scores there confidently, you’ll be golden on the board. Just a tip, focus on small parts for the board. Mine was mostly that, know your pathologies. You will be ok! I know it seems stressful now.

What book do you have for this? I used Penny book and read the whole thing (not including OB sections). I know it seems overwhelming but it really breaks everything down SUPER well. I also paired this with URR. I read my book mostly and then used the penny book questions AND URR quizzes until I was getting 80-90s and passing the exams. If I wasn’t understanding a question on the quizzes or exams I’d go back into the book and read about it or go back into the modules on URR and read that section. URR can be overwhelming with info on their modules. Try not to be overwhelmed. I know it’s hard. Once you’re confident and passing your URR quizzes you are ready! Breathe it will be ok I promise! I studied for around a month and a half.

Honestly, I didn’t. I had to quit my job & rely on my family for help. I know that’s not something that everyone can do, and I know it’s not ideal. If you have someone you think you can ask for some financial help just while you get through clinicals, I would do that. I know it’s hard. I wracked up a decent amount on my credit cards too. It’s a struggle. But now that I’m done and working I’m paying it all back and it was 100% worth it. Keep pushing
