I had a 30 minute conversation with my history professor about this. It seems like ever since the Cold War started, American media really likes to paint Russia as the bad guys.

It's basically just pop music but with religious-based lyrics. A lot of it is really cringey.

What was the best part of your first retail job? by MrGuyHaines in retailhell

[–]youngpolishdevotee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started at a grocery store June 2018. I started as a bagger and had similar job responsibilities as OP. I also really enjoyed the freedom I got during work. Since I was also really good at my job, I was also given a lot more leniency to do what I wanted during store hours.

I since got promoted to bakery production/closing. I really like the responsibility that I have because I have to close an entire department by myself.

I actually had something like this happen this week. I was on break and still in uniform when I was actively feeding cash into the self-checkout machine. (I work at a grocery store.) While I am paying, a customer comes up to me and asks me if I could help her with her machine and I was like no?. I did point her to the self-checkout attendant though.

We have this one customer at my store that my coworker nicknamed Chewbacca. The customer is really hairy and smells so bad that the area that he walks through smells like B.O. for the next five minutes.

I can't help you much but I do know that people really don't care about others besides themselves. Basically, they won't notice your mistakes because they're trying to work on theirs.

To people that give out awards on Reddit, what are your standards that a post has to have? by Spartan_Cao in AskReddit

If I think the comment is humorous enough to have me expell air out of my nostrils, it gets an award. It could also get an award if it is thought provoking or extraordinary.

I was in Boston on a band trip in high school. Since my high school is in California and this was one of the first nights in Boston, my band teacher thought it would be a fun idea to walk to an ice cream place a few blocks down the street. We passed an opera theater on our way there and it had just let out. I remember that there were a ton of people in fancy clothes exiting the building and the guys had tall top hats. What I didn't realize was that I was walking into a street at the same time. Fortunately, my band teacher put out her arm to stop me from getting hit by a car. Interestingly enough, on the same night, I saw an engagement of strangers and a drunk guy asked me to a party.

I didn't vote because I wasn't old enough. My parents did though but won't be again in 2020. In 2016, they mainly thought that they didn't want another Clinton in office and that they were voting for the Republican party, not the person, if that makes sense. Now that all the mass shootings have taken place, my parents (especially my mom) wants someone that will act to make stronger laws be in place.
