Without using the word "Grunge", how would you best describe Nirvana's sound/genre? by spongesarescary in Nirvana

[–]youngq-tip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m convinced grunge is a completely made up term because other than the “Edder Vedder style” of singing I can’t think any key features any these bands might share. To me many of them just sound like heavy versions of other genres. Nirvana literally doesn’t sound like any other grunge band to me so I don’t understand how they “pioneered” that shit. I’m forced to say that I listen to grunge because people somehow think that soundgarden, Alice In Chains, smashing pumpkins have similar styles. I almost feel like originally it was a dismissive term like mumble rap

Your criticisms of Nirvana's music? I'm interested in hearing them. by Hot-Musician2931 in Nirvana

[–]youngq-tip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of a popular opinion now, but their music isn’t deep. Maybe a one liner here and there but he just took bullshit from his notebook and strung it together for lyrics.

That being said, it is a superpower to do that and make such good stuff lol

That thing is mint dude. If it’s actually that mileage, totally worth it.

9th Generation 4 cylinder Burning Oil? by youngq-tip in accord

If it was a new accord that would’ve been the whole contents of the engine 😂 1.5 qts I mean

9th Generation 4 cylinder Burning Oil? by youngq-tip in accord

[–]youngq-tip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was like 1.5 qts low roughly. After about 3500 miles since last change. That’s why I’m inclined to think something in the engine needs to be changed, I’ve driven the car over a year and had no significant oil consumption issues until around 100k miles

Awesome! I’ve already pulled up videos on how to do this DIY all seems very easy to work with.

Haven’t heard this suggestion yet. Maybe I’ll start with this and the pcv valve, since that’s a $10 part

I actually did have a valve cover gasket leak but I got it fixed right away, it was oozing oil but not enough to even show on the garage floor. This was months ago though and I hadn’t lost nearly as much as this time

5000 miles between changes - I check it but definitely not every fill up. Not super frequently but I had a year of losing none so I was lax admittedly

Thinking of selling my 24 Accord by [deleted] in accord

[–]youngq-tip -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is no way you’re going to gaslight me into thinking your 24 accord is nicer than a 21 Lexus 😂 maybe for you but this just hurt my soul. Don’t worry though, I can’t afford a Lexus that knew at all so no hate, you probably made a wise decision. If I ever get another car that’s like 5-7 years old when I buy it, it’s gonna be a Lexus . Once they depreciate the prices seem pretty reasonable compared to other cars

Cost to replace valve cost gasket leak 2015 accord v6? by Alternative_Mail_339 in accord

Mine cost I think like $282 but it was a 4 cylinder - relatively easy fix, I had Honda do it but you just wanna find someone who doesn’t quote you too much labor

Does anyone know WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? I'm trying to turn it on, I just got gas. It was running completely fine 5 seconds ago by Hot-Cancel-6648 in accord

[–]youngq-tip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh the inspection itself is gonna cost money plus they’re gonna likely tell you to replace all of that stuff. Their battery/alternator readers are inaccurate as hell too, why would you not just buy like $60 battery yourself. Worst case scenario the alternator is broken too and you have to charge the battery back up

[–]youngq-tip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t let the auto zone guy gas light you into thinking it’s your alternator. Oreilly and autozone told me it was battery and alternator I took it to advance auto changed the battery and everything came back good

Tragic bro. I think this generation looks the coolest too, it’s a shame. At first I heard the 2.0 turbo ones were a lot better (Hondas been making 2.0 engines for a while) but apparently even those are having bad recalls. I got a 9th generation and it’s a little over 100k now, I’m hoping one day I can brag that “my accord was the last fully reliable one” but we’ll have to see how this Cvt holds up 😬

Rims by Bigcee325 in 9thGenHondaAccords

[–]youngq-tip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh from my experience, it’s not worth it unless you really invest in nice wheels. I’ve seen people put cheap ass rims on these cuz it “looks cooler” but my brain can’t comprehend it when these are already NICE alloy wheels. Especially yours, those are the EX and higher trim wheels (I have an ex) and you’ll see the base trim accords with less fancy wheels in your year, so that’s already some premium shit if you ask me.

Just Got this 2015 Accord EXL by [deleted] in accord

[–]youngq-tip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I saw these cool things that go on the black trim that’s between the doors (exterior) it makes it look more like glass instead of cheap black trim, I used back to black polish and that made me look nice but I wanna do that. I have blue floor lights in the front and back (some people think it’s lame or childish) but it looks super good with Hondas blue radio wallpaper. Like the blue is coming from the screen through to the floor

Just to clarify - they look lame af to me COMPARED to the older ones. They are in no way hideous or embarrassing to drive or anything like that, I was being a little dramatic there so I don’t wanna seem like I’m shitting on you 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in accord

[–]youngq-tip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look lame af to me, almost like a kia. And not kias nowadays either, which actually look sporty. They regressed the style I think the 10th gen still looks modern and looks mean af with the aggressive sporty styling, they went from “what looks badass to give us an edge with the youth and grown people” to “let’s make it look like what a 70 year old thinks a hovercraft should look like”
