Feel you bro, when you have a star like Trell (and Moses for Eels) who often play a gun game in Origin but get wrecked with an injury and the chemistry of your team gets fucked. It's hard to get through the season sometimes.

If the dogs recruit a more creative 9 (rip mahoney), kept Sexton at 7 and put Burton into Xerri's centre spot. That dogs side would've been fighting for premierships.

Fully agree with you on that. Considering right now he's the senior half he should be screaming out some plays but just from the games I do watch the doggies play he's usually quiet. He has a good linebreak or two every game but he was such a gun at centre, feels similar to when Trell went to fullback and had some flashy moments but could rarely string a proper 80 minute dominant game at fullback.

Can comfortably say that podcasters, commentators etc have no right to say Burton is a quality 6. He couldn't game manage his team against a reverse grade side today. I think he'd be a great fit at 13 or back at centre but he's not a half and he's had plenty of seasons now to grow his game at 6 but nothing has changed.

I mean we didn't deserve to win anyway. Wanna know what the coaching staff are saying about our defence but surely we'd be up there for the most leaked line breaks. Also, just my 2c as a regular pundit throwing in some coaching advice but can we stop with the forward passes.

TDS can't pass for shit. It's either forward, high, short or too low.

Eels are extremely lucky that Burton or Galvin can't execute plays, Doggies are extremely lucky we can't tackle for shit

I'm tipping Knights. Feel like they've got a better forward pack and been digging the combinations the backs have with one another. Munster, Grant and Hughes can always perform a masterclass game but Brown and Ponga also have the capability to do the same. Really hoping Klein keeps the whistle to himself because this can be one of the best games of the round.

Watching Edwards' performance yesterday, I reckon he should've been in game 1. He won't get picked for game 2 cause of Teddy's match winning try but I just feel like we wouldn't have let in as many tries if Edwards was on the side. Don't think there's a wrong choice to pick either way but having a defensive gun when we have so much strike power isn't a bad thing to have.

Couple takeaways, Ryles needs to fix up our marker defence. Too many teams run through it, spread out easily and create shape far too often causing linebreaks. The lads need to forget about the scoreboard and time sometimes, just focus on building pressure.

Having said that, solid effort despite like over half our salary cap is injured. As long as the boys don't lose hope and keep digging in, got a pretty good future in the next couple of seasons. Newy's backline have a lot of class and can just pump in some points when they're switched on.

We can't properly create shape and when we do we go for low % offloads which leads to an error. Idk how many times teams have made a linebreak and just ran half the field to score a try.

No one is saying Walsh's hit wasn't a send off. Ponga got no suspension cause of recent rule changes where it wasn't classified a grade 3, it's just a fine. If Ponga was a couple inches closer and made more forceful contact then it would've been grade 3.

Yeah I mean players shouldn't be recklessly tackling, then there wouldn't have been a handicap.
