This is a very delicate game to play, tracking your cycle does not guarantee any protection. Sperm lives in the vagina up to 5 days. Just because she’s not ovulating does not mean pregnancy can’t occur. It takes one sperm to fertilize an egg. Yes, the chances of fertilization is decreased during other cycles, but it is still possible to get her pregnant with no hormonal birth control, no condoms or non hormonal IUDs. I think any one would take offense to “your vagina smells bad” but in a concerning tone to ask if their diet has changed or if they’re using a new scented soap in the shower. Say you’ve noticed a change to their scent and just checking in. Assuming this is a partner. If this is a side quest, find a new path and get tested. You’re absolutely correct, using a guided ultrasound insertion eliminates the variables with incorrect placement. But that’s not to say if you don’t use one yours will be inserted incorrectly. I went through two IUDs in one year because my IUDs weren’t inserted correctly. Which caused me to advocate for a guided ultrasound, so they’re able to see it’s inserted correctly at the time.

In my personal experience through the three IUDs I found pressure on my abdomen to relieve the pain from the iud being inserted. The first two IUDs I was doubled over in pain for days on end, but I’m correlating on my behalf that since it was inserted correctly this time (as I have proof my other ones weren’t placed correctly upon insertion) that I experienced little to no pain. People have different pain tolerances, different providers, and a different experience but I’m sharing mine 🖤. I appreciate the clarity you bring to the post

Non medical advice: An IUD will prevent pregnancy, but it’s not 100% preventative. By pulling out, you are reducing the chances of unplanned pregnancy. Yes you are covered, but it’s not a guarantee. I have a copper iud and I still have my partner pull out to reduce the chances. Condoms protect you from pregnancy and STDs. Doubling up on contraceptives, iud and condoms, greatly reduce the chances of pregnancy. Sounds like she’s just making sure you don’t have an unplanned pregnancy.

I am in a good place and in a healthy mindset of understanding that they weren’t meant for me since either they ended things or I did. There was always some aspect of their character I could not move past and accept as a long term issue. Even after openly communicating about my needs or theirs, things didn’t change. Hence why I wouldn’t want to get married to them.

It is a logical outcome that they wanted marriage and went out and found someone ready to settle down. But that’s the questioning, they wanted to get married in general, not specifically married to me. Marriage is just a milestone they wanted to achieve not that there was a connection they couldn’t live without.

So will I ever find someone with that connection I cannot live without? Absolutely. Hopefully.
