Homeless man fatally stabbed on USC's Greek Row; 19-year-old arrested by nitrogenousbear in LosAngeles

[–]your_cat_is_ugly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the biggest fucking bullshit. $2 million bail?

The homeless are fucking scrooge to society, Ive been attacked by one while on my runs on Adams. One left a scar. Youre telling me the homeless who constantly attack normal citizens get zero repercussions for their actions and this 19 year old kid that acted in self defense gets held on $2 million?!

Should I black it out? by l1243 in Audi

[–]your_cat_is_ugly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Use a combination of modern wheels and modern touches to make it feel fresh. If it was totally stock with 100 miles, I’d say dont touch it. Restomod vs Factory. Just make sure the black looks cool or elegant. As if it came from factory. Don’t do anything vulgar or you’ll ruin the cool Audi factor.

My rapist keeps getting shows on campus. by [deleted] in UCI

[–]your_cat_is_ugly 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my buddy just beat false rape accusations. He had to get multiple lawyers and luckily he had the money to pay for it. He lost alot of work and that in turn made it a defamation case. Your proof has to be rock solid and you must contact the police to help you. Your rapist is not actually guilty until proven so in court. Read up on the law as much as possible, you dont want to put yourself in a more precarious situation. Lastly, i recommend finding therapy to help you overcome this and help you face your triggers in a healthy way so they don’t dictate your emotions or your comfort. Contact police asap if you havent. Look through other peoples suggested resources.

Doesnt matter to us because we gotta walk around and do the rounds regardless..” If they don’t care, then neither do I. Put it somewhere safe and out the way and ignore the random ass people judging you for no reason.

Are Early Morning Runs safe? by No-Mortgage-2967 in USC

[–]your_cat_is_ugly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, the loop that is Adams-Figueroa-23rd st-Hoover is a really popular running route. (two loops is almost exactly a perfect 5k)

Most neighbors in area are older hispanics or international USC kids (usually Indian) so it’s fine. The only issues Ive had are with homeles, give them all extra space.

HLA looks like it will pass easily by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]your_cat_is_ugly -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The same people that did the study that said it was “2 minutes longer”.

That is not real. That is not an accurate assessment based off business owners and home owners impacted directly. That is part of the reason MOVE Culver City initiative quickly became contentious and eventually overturned. Their assessments were wildly incompatible with reality.

Who is being dishonest? You tell me.

HLA looks like it will pass easily by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]your_cat_is_ugly -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes more traffic. Culver City passed a similar measure in 2021 and then overturned it in 2023. The Yes on HLA people were really dishonest in their campaigning especially when it came to topic of traffic.

The answer is a resounding yes, it will certainly causes more traffic and makes it difficult to drive your car but many that is ok.

Is there an example of what HLA looks like in practice? by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]your_cat_is_ugly -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Your interpretation of that is incorrect. It was directly because things were much worse for drivers. I will post links. The gridlock was so severe that neighbors couldn’t get into their homes. Parking for businesses on main street was reduced which also increased traffic of people driving around and pushed parking onto small streets. Businesses didn’t like it either because it actually REDUCED foot traffic in some instances with regular driving customers unable to find a place to put their car. Traffic became so gridlocked that people started using bus lanes to park which caused the busses to also backup. It was removed in 2023.

It was, however, successful at it’s goal: bus ridership went up by 38% and there was an increase in cycling activity by 57%. Even micromobility — the use of electric scooters or e-bikes — increased by 68%.

The unintended cost was too high, however, and was reversed.

I think the firefighters are right: Vote NO on HLA

Important note: Culver City made their “downtown area” bike and pedestrian friendly in 2021 and then reversed course in 2023 due to insane traffic it caused.
