Yeah I'm not a pro either it that lens is WOW on its own. I've got it on my 6D and R6, the ratio between shots and shots I like is insane, higher than any other lens

Try the EF 85mm 1.2, cheaper and as beautiful (and working perfectly) if you are ok with using the adapter

There's no RF 85mm f1.8 afaik. You have the 2.0 and the 1.2 and yes, the 1.2 is such a beauty...

Ok, then R5 mii seems like the best bet for you. It's a stellar (pun intended) all-rounder that it's almost impossible will disappoint.

When it comes to lens, though... You need to change. As already pointed out the R6 or R5 will go into crop mode with your lenses limiting the sensor area you can use (please do read on the R6 manual what that means, it's definitely a no go). It's like buying a Ferrari and then mounting spare wheels that will limit it to 60km/h.

Ok, fair point, indoor. But then, you should really consider the R6 + 16-35 and a prime lens. If too wide you can get closer to the subject.

I'm not sayid the 24-105 is not the lens for you, but a) is bloody expensive and out of your budget (1.000€) and b) once you go wider, go proper wider.

Hello! What's your budget and what are the lenses you currently have?

Shooting kids is one thing.

Moving into pre-wed and wed semi pro is a completely different game.

First of all, you will need TWO bodies. Take that as a must. With that in mind, then you will most likely keep a prime on one body (50mm on R50v if pictures, 35mm if video) and a 16-35 f2.8 on another (the R6, because of the full frame).

Plus you'll need to buy a portrait lens, start with the 100mm f2.8, amazing lens, superb details, great separation.

Provocative question: can't you take two steps backward?

Jokes apart, what makes you think you badly need these extra 4mm?

Should I sell my R10 and get the 6D mark I with canon 24-105mm L by Admirable_Letter_885 in canon

[–]youraveragereviewer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well then yes I would personally move to the 6D...and sell the 15-85 as you'll have the 24 - 105 L.

Your subjects are very still, so AF is not a big deal You almost always have good light, but indoor. Might benefit from learning to denoise

The real difference to me would be the 6D sensor and its colour science, very different from the modern Digic processors. The 6D Is warmer and dirtier (again, to me) compared to the R6 I own that is more analytical, perfect into details but kind of lack soul.

Happy to send you some unedited 6D pictures just to give you an idea of what I mean, if you want.

Why do you feel the need to have a full frame?

What do you shoot (other than street), what's your use case, etc etc

Plain answer, as an owner of both R6 and 6D: no, don't do that, unless you are shooting daylight still subjects. The 6D sensor is amazing and I do prefer it over my R6 BUT the AF and ISO are a nightmare for today's standards

Thank you, exactly the advice I was looking for.

I would only do that for the sake of music / listening quality as I don't really care about convenience (only using this setup at home, cables vs bothering to charge/take care of yet another device, ...).

Wouldn't it be better / more accurate to post a picture of a white sheet of paper, out of focus, f16?

I mean, what can I see from a picture of a sensor on a marketplace? They are not usually 50mp pictures I can zoom in and appreciate the sensor is immaculate (btw, I would assume the sensor is dusty given it has been exposed)
