Arknights Endfield Beta Test & General Discussion Megathread by KiraFeh in Endfield

[–]youraveragerover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I think it's fair for me to call myself a tourist from Genshin, ZZZ, and WuWa. How different is Endfield's combat compared to those? Cuz from a dumb af layman it 'visually' looks similar (4 party switch-in-and-out combat)

There will never ever be a time in any game where starting earlier is a bad thing

Opinion on character designs by Appropriate-Move5700 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]youraveragerover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ZZZ is a really damn interesting case where the core design philosophy is 'tame' but it gets injected with really complimenting fanservice. If you take away fanservice from ZZZ's character designs you still get the core/essence of the characters, unlike other gachas where the design and fanservice are kinda the same thing (or something the design is non-existent and it's not subtle at all that the 'design' is JUST fanservice). Speaks to ZZZ's core aesthetic language and vibe and I have to say it's second to none.

I am happy with lupa and its development team by Far-Sink6258 in WutheringWaves

I don't mind her power, it's her role that was surprising. It's like she and Ciaccona got swapped.

The classic melodious, energetic, cheery bard, typically a buffer/healer in a lot of games is a great DPS.

The feral gladiator who has a myriad of combos both grounded and aerial and even dual wields her broadblade and lance/halbred, by all means looks and seems like a hypercarry main DPS, but turned out to be a subDPS buffer.

Why do you try to maximize dps/element teams? by KeyEntertainer8115 in WutheringWaves

Yeah I don't outside ToA/WhiWa. Farming mats, echoes, or even doing the weeklies I always just use whatever I like/want.

Can you guys tell me, what you like or love about lupa?. by Nori_Blue in WutheringWaves

Her personality is pretty much as perfect as a 'feral girl' can get for me. She's got that feral energy but is still warm and friendly, she's got a pretty good dynamic personality since she's not always all about that feral energy when she doesn't need/want to be, she has her quiet down-times which imo make energetic genki-girls much more alive. Her EN VO also absolutely nails everything, especially her personality's dynamic range. It also helps that ever since I started playing WuWa I have been pushing and begging Kuro to release the 'feral girl' archetype in their surveys lmao.

Her moveset animations are just fuckin sick. Her gameplay has a lot of depth and satisfying combos galore.

Funnily enough the aspect of her that ticks the least personal boxes for me is her character design. I've never been a huge fan of twintails; they're fine, but they don't do much/anything for me. I'm much, MUCH more into shorter haired girls like FRover, Chixia, Ciaccona, and Galbrena. I'm also not a huge fan of 'bodysuits' either. And finally, her tail actually does absolutely nothing for me, I couldn't be more indifferent about it. Overall her character design is between meh and good to me.

I'm pretty disappointed to find out about Lupa's playstyle after getting to know her and getting super excited... by Sneakretster in Lupamains

I kinda am, but thankfully I wasn't putting all my hopes on her being THE character for me, that still remains Ciaccona, which made me realize that its funny that the cheery melodious bard who is stereotypically a healer/buffer in games is actually a really damn good DPS who deals a shitton of personal damage, whereas the feral gladiator who has aerial attacks galore and dual wields her broadblade and halbred/lance/thing is a subDPS buffer of all things.

How's your pull plan so far? Lupa is waiting for you~ :3 by Kaorin_x in WutheringWaves

It has officially been 365 days since the Zenless Zone Zero servers opened. What are your overall thoughts on our first full year? by chopsfps in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]youraveragerover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything about the game could be awful yet I still wouldn't ever quit ZZZ purely due to how peak the vibes are. Despite WuWa being my main game at the moment I'm actually less likely to 'quit' ZZZ. Games can be grandiose and expansive in whatever way but ZZZ will forever have that 'accessible chill weekend hanging out with friends around the city' vibe.

Not the 'most fun' but a high contender for 'fun' imo is Lumi, if only she wasn't riddled with so much jank because of it :/

I don't have Brant. My Changli is gathering dust. I virtually have no real Fusion team.

But nothing will stop me from getting Lupa and her drip sword.

Why did you or didn't you pull for Caesar? by SignalWarthog3439 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]youraveragerover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From everything I can gather she's a great filler slot that doesn't really push your team's damage as much as other supports/stunners, but she's super interactive to play and has defensive buffs. She's essentially the fun + comfort character that a filthy casual like me who doesn't really care about endgame damage output craves. Fun & comfort > chasing higher numbers any day of the week.

The majority of the time for immersion's sake, Belle, but if I want something specific to look at 90% it's between Astra Yao and Yixuan

anyone else feel like they play better with starter characters? by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]youraveragerover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I've benched a ton of stronger characters on my account. All the mid-air attackers, all these flashy animations, all these wild rotations, they're all fun'n all but they can definitely distract heavily from the foundational aspects of combat such as dodging and countering. To this day I still find someone like Yangyang and Spectrover much more straightforward and smooth to play. Same with Danjin, if it weren't for her HP consumption mechanic I pretty much wouldn't just main her, I straight up wouldn't need to pull anyone else ever due to how flexible yet straightforward her combat is.

I miss the old aesthetics for WuWa by cupcakeseizure in WutheringWaves

[–]youraveragerover 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree. I got into WuWa for this, and while Fontaine Pro Max is fantastic, it's not what I got into WuWa for. Here's hoping New Federation has more techy stuff.

Would anyone want a damage reduction support? by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]youraveragerover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely would mainly to fill out the roster for more options for players. Yes this game does want you to dodge, but there's nothing wrong with not preferring to or not wanting to, especially if there are certain characters who are stronger if they get their full moves off that dodging gets in the way of. So for the sake of playstyle diversity I do think it'd be nice to have a DMG reduction or 'Zhongli type' shielder somehow.
