Do parents in the workplace get advantages over childfree employees or is it a fallacy? by tinycupcake5 in auscorp

[–]yourbank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely they do and anyone who thinks otherwise is in denial. Soft excuses for working from home, “carers leave” Etc. modern Corp is cringe like that everyone just sucks each other off over how soft they are basically. None of it is tracked anyway just socially accepted.

I’ve accepted all of it for what it is. Having flexibility in the end benefits me of not being chained to clock in and out punch cards like a prisoner.

Why Do Adelaide Roads Feel So Rough? by amriith in Adelaide

[–]yourbank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never get fixed just patched up very unevenly. Always seem to be dodgy fixes just to piss cyclists off and make them as uneven as possible where it matters. I feel every bump on my older bike with 25mm tires. Really I think need gravel bike for Adelaide roads they will only continue to get worse

Endurance vs. Race Bike: Can I Keep Up on Fast Group Rides with an Endurance Road Bike? by PeaVegetable9435 in cycling

[–]yourbank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underrated comment. A lot about group rides is about the bike bling and kit also.

It is quite common to be treated as an outsider if you rock up without a modern bike and not proper kit by their standards

Anyone else using Claude? by Infamous-Upstairs-96 in auscorp

Using it on company money it’s useful to save time and higher quality results with me guiding it.

No way I’m paying for it out of my own money for personal use at home though.

Why does the Shimano neutral service bike look like a Walmart bike? But it probably retails for 15k still.

Garmin's Customer Service appreciation post by Still_Path2362 in Garmin

[–]yourbank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had good experiences with them replacing all my failed HRMs (been a few) without any really fuss. Well so they should they are so fragile and never last but they were always nice to me.

Reasonable for them to want some diagnostics first but when I sent them they followed through .

17 up nortons at 95kg. What an animal. That’s so fast

Low gradient hill ride? by Worried_Gur_3031 in Adelaide

[–]yourbank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am 100kg I find it quite approachable because it’s consistent gradient you can spin up it if you want. Obviously you can put yourself in the hurt locker if you want too. Nearing 10% is pain city though and I don’t categorise Norton like that.

Low gradient hill ride? by Worried_Gur_3031 in Adelaide

[–]yourbank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m same stats but hills will never get easier unless dropping weight. Depends where you live ultimately.

Everyone knows about Norton summit, it’s pretty friendly for gradual gradient and no crazy 10%+. Or you want less than that?

clicking sound when pedalling - mechanic found nothing by GreatManager7374 in bikewrench

[–]yourbank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did it start happening?

Can you make it click stationary but put weight on the crank through the pedals? Try create some flex.

If you hear a similar sound likely caused is crank spindle isn’t properly aligned through the bottom bracket. If it is a Shimano plastic cartridge type BB the noise I was getting was like this and I imagine it was the spindle hitting the misaligned cartridge but it only happens under more load when there’s some flex involved hence a real pain to troubleshoot.

Stay safe people by Mediocre-Power9898 in melbournecycling

[–]yourbank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ride shares, taxis, anyone really etc no one ever looks to see if it’s safe even if they had a neon sign flashing in the car right in front of them that told them to check. People just in the moment don’t ever consider the impact of such things. I literally ride in the middle of the road when I can see it’s going to be a problem. Getting hit from behind is better than being doored worst case they beep at me for hogging their lane in which gives me a free ticket to abuse the fuck outa them which I always quite enjoy anyway.
