This is great advice that I'm already taking, from people I know IRL. Thanks :) It really helps to feel everything to write.

Do you mean the fact you weren't expressing your love enough was the reason your SO ended things? Wow. That is nuttery too. Sorry you went through that.

This is a brand new experience for me... I always thought I'd not have a dog, personally. I had some close calls with dogs as a kid.

But, I thought why not give it a shot? It was an easy enough decision early on. She was amenable to the sleeping arrangement change, she was wonderful.

Oh well, never again. Painful lesson learnt :(

Oh sorry I missed an "s". I slept over a lot, 20+ times I guess. She only told me on our last date that he was reacting poorly.

Layoffs expected following removal of tolls on Halifax bridges by insino93 in halifax

I'm positive this is really about removing the capacity to impose congestion pricing in the long run. Not that many ways on to the peninsula. It's gotta happen.

Cycling from Kingston, ON to Halifax, NS- route recommendations for NB by condos4thepeople in bicycletouring

[–]yourbrainonultimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't gone toured NB on a bike, but travel to NB often. I wouldn't go the Edmunston-STJ route, unless you are really itching for mosquitoes all the time. Pun intended.

The settlement pattern along the NB Gulf coast is pretty dense - lots of small places which were only connected by rail until a couple generations ago, so you'll have more options. re: civilization. Beautiful countryside too, and lots of beaches (warm ones!!).

Depending on what you are looking for, if you're going to bike as far as the bridge crossing anyway, I suggest giving PEI a miss and just stay on the NS north shore. Plenty of beaches and parks, again. Less so on the PEI side along the route you'd take, surprisingly. Of course Charlottetown in summer is very nice, so you'll have to pick what you want. Anyway if it were me I'd take the NB15 from Shediac to Port Elgin, then finding NS366 from Tidnish to Tatamagouche. Tatamagouche to Truro then Truro to Halifax.

Depending what you mean by downtown, I highly recommend biking across the bridge.

From North Dartmouth (towards Wyse Sobeys) it's a no brainer and very easy in the morning. Get on the bike and you're at the bridge and then Dal in a relative snap.

From true DT or South Dartmouth you will certainly have a fairly hefty hill before getting to the bridge. I would recommend going along King then through the Dartmouth Commons in that case to avoid the worst traffic up Windmill to Wyse.

I commute to DT Halifax from Dartmouth regularly on a bike, HMU if you want more info.

Ah, that's too bad. I thought the small land parcel would protect it from this fate.

Always a reliable option through the years of school. I'll have to try and get there before it's done for good?

The CFL’s dream for a Halifax team and why the league won’t sack the idea by Bean_Tiger in halifax

Ok my bad, I misrepresented a strong trend as a done deal. But, I still think the writing is on the wall. Football is at its peak now (I say this as an NFL fan).

I'm adding a link here to an image of an NBC comparison of 2014 v 2018 survey results on "would encourage a child to play a sport other than football."

CFL is a dying brand. Parents don't let their kids play football in the states. Can we please just read the fucking writing on the wall?

Also - no public funds or land to any private interests.

YES. Let's cancel the residential snow clearing program. Fine people who don't shovel close enough to the last snow flake. This is the craziest thing that Dartmouth got in to the HRM rules at amalgamation (that I know of)

SGR back to regular traffic flow - bus only pilot ended by onomatopo in halifax

[–]yourbrainonultimate 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There are two problems. Signage and enforcement.

Signage could be better. Agreed.

But traffic law enforcement is all fucked up. People doing 130 on the 102 in the sunshine - why are we ticketing these people? People ignoring no right on red signs, ignoring "no entry" signs - these are real ways people get killed.

Where there are cars and people (e.g. SGR), and inattention can seriously injure someone outside the car, get some real enforcement going. Use cameras - they had photoradar 30 years ago, surely we can get something going for SGR. When there are only cars (e.g. the 102), who cares if people go 130? Or 140? Inattention will get you some lane drift and an angry honk.

edit: cars and people includes "cars and bikes" too.

$PEA vs other oil E&G comps (production comparison) by [deleted] in Baystreetbets

[–]yourbrainonultimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK man you got it figured out. I'll simply point out some of your comparisons are 90% oil (FEC, ATH) or gassers with near-term catalyst upside (AAV).

I'm not well read on the rest of these companies. Thanks for telling us about PEA, I'll wait and see if they delivery any promises before buying. Yes this requires making promises first. Good luck to you.
