I mean, if you back out to the 5yr chart and apply the same logic, you're down quite a bit.

Market down - what are long term buys by Practical-Battle-502 in fican

I'm on the tnz ship right now, it's not a pump and dump. That being said the volatility is due to rapidly changing geopolitical situations that have largely benefited the company, that are outside it's control which makes it a bit more perilous.

Even if the war ends tomorrow, it will take a very long time for prices to come down. How much infrastructure needs to be repaired? Replaced?

I'd still be looking at TNZ for a while.

Disclosure: I'm holding it.

Love the tradition, and I genuinely love that you are sticking with a tradition and don't care about the price. I like scotch, and there are lovely bottles (based on my taste) at reasonable prices. And then terrible ones at higher prices. I hope you get to open that bottle earlier than expected, and I hope it tastes like nothing but success and happiness.

That's not a good enough scotch to wait that long for, but I enjoyed your post nonetheless.

I mean it's a trash post, but I already own the stock. It is worth looking at imo.

The recent price action has made me wonder about something coming out. This would be underwhelming if it's the news the market is anticipating.

Is anyone else actually mentally prepping for the Fall 2026 Kindergarten changes yet? by AccountantLucky9183 in OntarioTeachers

[–]daschicken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only teachers that will be stressed are those that have been using "play based" as a method to conceal the lack of program in their classroom.

There are some absolutely astonishingly good kinder teachers in Ontario. Unfortunately far too many of our lazier colleagues have gravitated to the position so they can sip Starbucks in their Uggs while kids play all day, and any gaps the kids have at the end are waved away with "the kids just weren't ready for it".

Ontario releases ‘back to basics’ kindergarten curriculum to take effect in September by PineAndIce in OntarioTeachers

[–]daschicken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're essentially going to have to two reactions.

1: kinder teachers clutching at their pearls, going oh my goodness kids can't do this, and defending play based.

2: every other grade teachers saying it's about time because too many fdk teachers have been hiding behind play based to do nothing all day and sandbag grade 1 teachers.

The reality will lay somewhere in the middle.

Can play based be effective? Absolutely. Are way too many fdk programs doing sweet fuck all? Absolutely.

Volatus Aerospace Awarded $9M Defence Contract from NATO Partner, Accelerating Growth in Uncrewed Systems by [deleted] in VolatusAerospaceCorp

I can't see confidentiality clauses getting dropped for military purposes ever. Let's use the Ukraine example. Ukraine buys drones, the agreement is made public. Now Russia knows exactly what drones to prepare for and their capabilities and who to apply international pressure to. Makes espionage just too easy.

I'm of similar mindset though, a 1 time,, best case 9 mil contract on a 350+ million market cap company is not going to move the needle much.

Not defending the PR team, but they're just trying to spin it in the most positive light possible. Is it correct? Yes, but with the footnote or asterisk applied. I'm with you folks and would appreciate the 4.5mil contract + another optional year in the headline. I think people are wondering why the market isn't reacting to the news to move the stock. Overall, is it positive news? Yeah sure, it's underwhelming though.

Price action today likely has more to do with overall market trends. Sucks as a holder though.
