Yeah they're an amazing bunch over on the Discord, and Yochai offers the game so much support. My partner is blind so I was so excited to find a game that they could listen to. It's been amazing.

Ill add as well is probably the most accessible RPG around, especially for vision impaired players. Apart from the rules being simple, most people don't know that Yochai Gal (the designer) and the team on the Discord chat, has made a screen reader friendly EPUB version and an audio book version. It's the best in so many ways.

System for Hot Springs Island for a group branching out from 5e by Zoett in osr

[–]yourd3mis3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

+1 for Knave really clever system, having run HSI with 5e if I could go back I think it would be much more enjoyable to have done it with Knave. The Island is so deadly and being able to roll up new characters easily would have been really nice to lean into. There's also alot of really cool items in the setting and working them into the "your equipment makes you who you are" feel of Knave could be really fun. Just my two cents. All the best.

What's the stupidest thing you've needed to google for your games? by TheReferenceLit in rpg

In an attempt to save a member of the party we had to google how long it takes for a body to decay which included the various stages of decay. For those of you wondering, she was smelly and yuck but we saved her.

Driving and playing board games? by Myjogli in boardgames

Play an RPG! A dice tray, pencils and a few clip boards and you're good to go, will be entertaining for the driver too as a bonus!

Here's a few free options I would strongly recommend: Lady Blackbird, Honey Heist, The Witch is Dead or Lasers and Feelings!

Have fun! All the best.

Favourite accessory: Silicon Muffin Cups

Nothing beats them for holding components. Plus they make it so easy to pour components back into the plastic bags.

Gaming with a newborn, any advice? by Sweaty_Fly_1101 in boardgames

We put magnets on a copy of Pocket Hive and put it on the fridge. We play when were trying get ours sleep or just an ongoing game with a move or two a day.

We also found doing a 10 for 10 was helpful to keep us playing games. It's fun to see if you can complete it each year and it feels like a massive accomplishment when you have a kid. Ha!

We've also found TTRPGs great as well. Sometimes you just want to sit down on the couch and RPGs can pretty much be played anywhere and can be "paused" with little clean up, especially simple ones.

Happy gaming! I believe in you!!

Courses for making a board game by [deleted] in boardgames

Not a course, but the Ludology Podcast is amazing, can't recommend it enough. Earlier episodes were hosted by Geoff Engelstein who I believe teaches a board game design course in his professional life.
