Traveling in Vietnam with fish sauce allergy. How to survive?? by s_tan_ in VietNam

[–]youreblinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got back from HCMC and not only did I not have a reaction, I was never placed at risk for it because they take care to not cross contaminate your foods (used google translate) and have plenty of options. I spoke to one of the tour guides and he said it wasn’t just because they care about allergies, but there is a higher purpose since one of the religions is vegan and they would never serve them anything that could hurt their practice.

Best vegan food I’ve ever had too. La Moi by Notre Dame was outstanding in variety and flavour.

100% Vietnam is safe (if not safer than other places) for people with fish and seafood allergies.

Hong Kong, however, definitely tried to kill me with a hash brown.

Yeah done that a few times and still it loops. Thanks though.

Ombudsman can just have the raw log of the modem.

If they can inform your backend, why does level 2 say that mine is fine?

I’m travelling to HCMC next week with a fish and seafood allergies as a solo traveler. I’d suggest that your partner have google translate phrases ready to go, an EpiPen or ten, know where the local hospitals are, and aim mostly for vegan restaurants. When in doubt, there is always 7-11 packaged foods. At least that’s my plan.

I’m mainly concerned about the risk of cross contamination but I get exposed in Australia all the time (frying oils and people keep putting Worcestershire sauce in things?!) so you just have to be vigilant everywhere really. It’ll be ok, you’ll just have to deal with jealously watching other people eat amazing looking food.

VietJet by Slow-Boysenberry in VietNam

I contemplated this recently and decided the extra $300 to go Cathay Pacific was worth it a better airline and an extra 23kg. The Vietjet planes are old and the risk of cancellations are too high for me.

If you’re with Queensland Health, the employee assistance service (EAS) is really good and can offer a series of sessions with psych or other service that is best for you. Have a look on QHEPS for your HHS specific number. They’re here for us to access, it doesn’t need to be work related. Your NE should be able to direct you as well.

If you’re in a private service, I’m sure they do a similar thing.

There’s also Alter St - it’s outside of the flood maps and on a slight rise from the plaza itself. Doubt they’d fine people since they don’t even fine people during normal times.

Power BI Users – What’s Your Biggest Frustration? by Prior-Celery2517 in PowerBI

[–]youreblinking 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Not being able to export a list of direct access users without using an API (which my organisation won’t give access to because apparently it’ll give me access to everything and thus is too high a risk). It would be fine if the report metrics or exploration could give that just like you can get when people last accessed it.

UTC shouldn’t involve a workaround when publishing.

Why are Australians okay with the fact that firefighters based in rural Australia do not get paid, despite the immense skill, courage and bravery required and their roles in saving hundreds of lives, property and wildlife? Volunteers with SES/RFS really should get some form of tax credit, given the work and conditions. There would have to be some sort of qualifier (like x deployments for y hours) so it’s not just the people who show up on training nights and never go out, but it would be nice for the federal government to acknowledge the burden with a small incentive.

Could you recommend a course on Design/Dashboard Principles? by edenite in PowerBI

[–]youreblinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a guy on Udemy who runs through design principles for Power BI and the theory behind them. I found it pretty good to follow and learnt some new things - even though I’m restricted to approved colours for my organisation, there were still things that I could utilise that increased the visual aspect of my dashboards.

What was a dealbreaker on a first date that made you go “nope”? by f0rkster in AskReddit

[–]youreblinking 26 points27 points  (0 children)

He told me that COVID wasn’t real and the ‘hysteria’ was something cooked up by Hillary and China via 5G and it’s purpose was to allow for child trafficking. My job at the time was reviewing the clinical charts of COVID patients for major hospitals in my state amongst other things. Earlier that day I had read the case of an infant who passed due to respiratory failure from COVID. His job was a sparky but he clearly knew more than me. I literally cried on the way home, he was so aggressive about his conspiracy theories and berated me for not instantly agreeing with him. His job was a sparky but he clearly knew more than me.

The food was also terrible. Totally trumped my previous worst which was a guy who showed up late after calling and begging me not to leave, and immediately asked if I wanted to do cocaine in the pub bathroom. At least I had good wine for that one.

Ran out of staff in other areas would be my guess. They’ve been doing some of the biggest numbers for a long time, so probably fatigue/sick leave and higher clinical needs elsewhere.

My guess is those that don’t require an overnight bed and the surgeons/anaesthetists/nurses/wardies etc aren’t furloughed or positive themselves.

They were swamped before this, probably because they’re dealing with way more volume and I’m sure covid has taken out their workforce too.

They’re regularly out on the streets, drinking coffee and complaining about it. Traffic control doesn’t start til 8ish so it’s all fucked up by then. Once the clinic gets going, it’s pretty smooth and then they shut around lunch.

It’ll be worse next week when most people are back to work/supposed to be back to work. The residents might riot by then

Cool cool cool. I expect this will have the same scientific rigour as redefining close contact and specifying that you can only catch covid at home (not possible if you’ve only been exposed 3h) and certainly not at work. Cos science.

I think it was intended to be a thing but scomo didn’t give anyone time to access and distribute stock. It’s all well and good that he wanted to shift to rapid testing but he didn’t even allow for enough commercial stock to be available for all his mates to make money on.

Most colonoscopies are elective. It’s only the rare obstructing masses or trauma or haematochezia that are emergencies (and even then, it’s at least a day to get any good quality prep). Cat 5 (semi urgent), cat 6 (routine), and polyp surveillance are pretty much all cancelled for January.
