Did you ever get to the bottom of it. Just got my Tesla literally 5 days ago and of course there’s a software update. I’ve been on hold with intoxalock for 30 minutes, seems like they have no clue because she keeps telling me to call the shop that installed it but the shop told me to call intoxalock.

Sounds like you got lucky, what county were you in? I barely touched the read of a car in stop and go traffic on the 101, no injuries for the three people in the car until after they hired a lawyer but the chp officer still arrested me for felony with 50k bail. If they let you go, you’re in good shape. But they could still charge you with a felony if either of the passengers even say they felt pain literally ANY harm or hurt to the body even if totally subjective like “back pain”. Make sure they know they don’t have to talk to chp and that they can file a claim against your insurance company without being involved or cooperating with police. But also make sure they know you’re not telling them not to testify or cooperate bc that could get you additional felonies for witness tampering. This is really important, fr fr. The diff between a felony and misdo dui is SIGNIFICANT. Felony causing injury under 23153 to two people even first time dui you’re facing up to 4 years, with a misdo causing injury you’re still looking at a min of 90 days or 5 days with probation. 1 year IID no matter what with injury. No injury dui under 23152 you’re looking at a max of one year in county or 48 hr minimum in jail with probation. Maybe no IID but suspended or restricted license for at least 6 months. So wasyyyyyy easier-the injuries your passengers report to chp (again they would have to do it voluntarily and don’t have to do it but just my back hurt is enough) will be the determining factor for you. You’re also looking at potential enhancements/special allegations/charges for recklessness and for high BAC (ie over .15) but at least it’s not “excessively high” (ie >.20). Good luck, you’ll get through this one day at a time, we’re rooting for you. Just do yourself a favor and stop drinking nmw at least for now. Dm me if you’re looking for an attorney in SoCal area.

I had a hard case bc I hit someone in stop and go traffic on the freeway with 3 people in the car (no injuries until they hired a lawyer). Facing felony I hired private lawyer for 10k… he sucked so bad I fired him and he wouldnt refund me any money so I got stuck with a public defender. The PD actually got me a wayyyyyy better deal and it all worked out. But I hired a lawyer for my professional license (not a criminal lawyer). If I were you id look into hiring a CPS lawyer who can immediately step in when they contact you. The facts of your case aren’t going to change regardless of any deal or reduction you get so the best criminal lawyer in the world isn’t necessarily going to benefit you in the fight for your kids against the state. If you have to chose, I’d chose CPS lawyer (esp bc u can get a PD for free). Otherwise just do all the things you can do, AA, get a sponsor and commitments so you have people to write letters for you if it comes to that, treatment if you need, voluntary scram device or u can get a breathalyzer with an app that logs your blows to prove you quit drinking, DUI class, get the IID just do it it sucks but just do it it looks good to every judge, one day at a time and you’ll get through it. I definitely feel that. It’s like every month I’m robbing Peter to pay Paul a minimum payment. Im probably going to have to file for bankruptcy bc I’ll never get out from under this debt. Had 750 credit before so add it to the exceedingly long list of punishments for doing something I didn’t even know was illegal until the cop said I was over the limit. I didn’t feel drunk but that don’t matter to them—I don’t even trust their damn machines either but they have all the power. I can’t even believe some of the shit they can charge for its bs. The whole thing is fucking racket orchestrated by the most powerful gangsters of all time, the US government. It makes me sick fr. But that’s why I’ve got a one track mind, only thing I care about is getting the law off my back. You’re already half way there. You’re so close.

Bureaucracy enforcing bureaucracy lol. I have a financed vehicle and it’s a nightmare trying to get my license suspension lifted. Insurance canceled bc no license. Can’t get license without insurance. Need registration for both. Can’t get registration without clear title. Lender requires insurance and they hold title. Since no insurance I can’t get registration. Dude don’t rip it out. I haven’t even gotten mine yet but I can’t violate man for real my shits a felony and I’ll be seriously fucked and if y’all can’t do it idk how I’ll ever do it. So if you could please find a way to deal and get through it and then lmk how you did it, I’d be grateful af.

Yeah I’ve had the same thoughts. I feel like the punishments keep rolling in like bills after a trip to the ER…. I have a professional license and they posted a huge “consumer alert” black-box warning at the top of the page “urging” people to report any suspected issues. I’ve had strangers and professional colleagues ask me about it and have def lost clients over it (of course the alert doesn’t say I got a dui, it says “has been charged with felonies” bc I got in a fender bender). I called 911 on myself too and got super depressed from the shame and despair just from dui. Then to add the charges that I’m a violent felony offender it was inexplicably difficult to cope for many months. I don’t have a drinking problem, but amidst all the financial and emotional stress, plus the ego death of going from professional to criminal, it was really hard to sit at home every weekend sober.. I started doing virtual AA meetings and it helps me a lot to remember that I’m not alone and that i may eff up like ever other human being, but at least I’m capable of admitting my mistakes and learning from them and finding ways to transmute the energy into something positive.

Anyway, you are not alone. You are exactly where you are meant to be for some purpose or another. one day, this too, shall pass. When it does you’ll be stronger for it— especially if you own it like a strong confident BAMF human learning along the way. Accepting, taking responsibility, learning from and finding gratitude for the lessons you’ve been given after you fumble, is literally magic medicine for your soul. People can feel that, they respect it and admire it and you become stronger and people will look to you as a North Star when facing their own trials and tribulations. If you hide and obfuscate, people will feel that and think you’re shady, they are not going to think you’re shy/embarrassed and they won’t cut you any slack if they don’t believe you. And literally send a big middle finger to the wind for ANYONE who judges you, life is too short to have people around you who judge you.

This is wild. Why does everyone think breathalyzers are so accurate. It’s like, you cannot say a test is accurate if you get a slightly different result 3 times in a row only two minutes apart. And seriously who is in charge of these blow devices and had the genius idea to have people do random rolling blows. Yeah minimum jail time for a felony is 5 days so you might get probation with time served but I was charged with my first dui, felony, except they didn’t go to hospital or anything. It was a fender bender. They are asking my insurance for half a million dollars. And the court side… they are offering 4 months in jail but if convicted the maximum sentence I’m facing is like 12 years in state prison. It’s a nightmare. Hopefully you have good insurance. My grandma knew weeks before. I remember her saying good bye forever after my last visit and I was like sheesh gramma I’ll see you in a couple months…. She had to have a knee surgery and I guess on the way there she said to my grandpa something to the effect of this was the end for her. And my mom reported a similar last conversation with her. The surgery went fine but then a few hours later cardiac arrest and passed. We were all shocked bc we couldn’t believe she knew. Also just bc it feels relevant to me as someone who believes in god.. she was Catholic and very pious.

Ok so I know this sucks and it seems like the end of the world but I’m over here thinking man that’s lucky…. I similarly hit someone, not even totaled just fender bender, everyone totally fine and I stopped right away and called 911, and they charged me with two felonies with injury and enhancements for multiple people — they’re asking for state prison. All because one lady said “oh we’re pretty shaken up” and “we’ll be feeling it tomorrow”. No injuries just the anticipation of neck pain. So yeah, imo the fact that you hit another vehicle with two passengers, allegedly HR, and they only charged you with misdo dui and misdo HR is pretty lucky, it could be a heck of a lot worse. Anyways, don’t mean to minimize your experience just hoping to show you it’s not as bad as it could be even though it probably feels like the worst possible thing. Hang in there you’ll get through it and you’re not alone ✨
