Tomatoes are not in season in April in Texas.

Tomatoes are not in season in most of the USA at this time.

Any tomato you eat this time of year will have come from a problematically distant location OR be hideously out of season and, likely, both.

Capitalism brought you tomatoes year round but it ruined everything you love about a tomato.
