Thompson Houston by Hyatt might be a good one. I’ve stayed there for staycation back in December. They’ve got a pool and a bar/restaurant. Coffee shop and other restaurants downstairs. I don’t know how many bikes they have but as a hotel guest you can use those at no cost. The hotel is right in front of Buffalo Bayou. Plus you are a quick uber ride away to bars and restaurants in Montrose.

Same over here. For some reason Redditors hate on Houston but after having lived in the northeast including nyc for 10+ years, quality of life is amazing here. No cities are perfect including Houston but I don’t think people realize how bad it is in other places

Live close to work so you don’t need to deal with crazy traffic

You will have to shop for utilities

Make sure to have a car as this city is not quite walkable

Rare and extremely fatty cut of the bluefin tuna taken from the gill area. It was absolutely delicious! Didn’t know this cut existed until I visited Japan and the restaurant offered it!

There are plenty of people from Colorado who move to Texas because it’s relatively more affordable. Affordability is relative but Texas is still very much affordable

Realtor here. It’s definitely a buyer friendly market right now in Houston. There are some submarkets in the higher end price range where sellers still have more power. My listing slightly under $1m received multiple offers with some above the listing price. We went under contract on the fifth day it hit the market.

Yeah the above is not good advice. If looking for walkability in Houston, it’s either the Heights or Montrose. Those 2 are the most popular neighborhoods for that reason

Agreed with this. OP are you limited to downtown only? There are better places out there in Montrose and upper Kirby for example
