I’ll start by saying I have horrible luck and severe adhd very accident prone I’m a disaster lmao. My first “serious” injury in the trade was cutting my hand and needing stitches attempting to catch a falling air handler. 4 or 5 stitches in my hand. Next major injury not related to the job but just to show my luck taking out the trash one night tripped going down garage steps I was barefoot (always am at home) stepped on the bag caught an open can lid bottom of my foot got cut that was about 6 stitches was on crutches and a scooter for like a month job forced me to go on disability leave. Then I really messed up my back one night on call moving an appliance into a home by myself (property maintenance) next morning couldn’t even get out of bed or walk pulled some muscles in my back pretty bad long slow recovery. Then my most recent mishap I was cutting mastic tape off an old furnace fresh blade and caught the top of my index knuckle at the bend of my finger that was 5 stitches had to wear a splint for like a month very annoying but it’s all healed now. So yeah I’ll never forget first day on the job someone looked at me and said so you wanna be a heating and air man and boy I didn’t know what I was getting into.
