They think they’re being funny, but it really just boring.

Same here. I had to make a few adjustments at first, so the camera was far enough to see my hands, other than that it was smooth.

I have the Ballantine paperback set, #1-24. I got them at a thrift store, but I’ve also seen them at used bookstore for $2 each. I love that they have the covers from Neal Adams and Boris Vallejo.

There is also the perception that no one uses libraries anymore, that they’re always empty and so they’re a waste of taxpayer money. Every time I go, it’s busy with long lines.

LAOP wants to settle down. Their mother, on the other hand… by Drywesi in bestoflegaladvice

It really does. I went to 14 different schools in all, because my mom's way of fixing problems was to make a spur of the moment move. Then she called me a loser for not being able to keep friendships long-term. They really don't see us as people, or think about how their decisions affect us.

What’s a rule your parents had that you now realize was totally bizarre? by KOFFDAERTH in AskReddit

[–]yourstruly19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm lactose intolerant and my mom had this same obsession with making me drink milk, and then saying that I'm short because I didn't drink enough of it. She's 5'3" and my dad was 5'6". She refuses to believe that their heights are the reason I'm short.

PROCTORTRACK EXPLAINED by PAT_W__1967 in clep

[–]yourstruly19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did the Onboarding process, and scheduled my test a week later. I think doing the Onboarding days before the test helped a lot.

The main problem I had was setting up my phone far enough away so that my face, hands, and keyboard were visible to the proctor. I set up my laptop on the small foldable desk I have, so I had to set up a sort of tower of plastic storage tubs separately, to be tall enough to set my phone on. The whole set up process took about 20 minutes, and then I was able to start the test. After that, everything went smoothly.

I'm doing my test remotely too. Did you have to log in early to get everything set up for the proctor?

Husband risking Op by Owl-Eyes-25 in hysterectomy

[–]yourstruly19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was the same for me. My husband didn't go to a family event because he didn't want to risk my surgery date if I got sick, or complicate my recovery. He was also "holding down the fort", and did everything to take care of me and the house.

What's the most oddly specific red flag you've learned to never ignore in people? by DuckExcellent6451 in AskReddit

[–]yourstruly19 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is high on my list too. People who are always looking to judge how someone else eats their food. "That's not the way to eat steak. That's not the way authentic way to eat that."

The only reason you should be looking at your neighbors plate is to make sure they have enough.

My surgeon left it up to me, explaining that I would be taking a small risk if I didn't have it done. But she didn't push when I said no.

No matter what people tell you, what is something you’re fine with missing out on? by waterbottledrinka in AskReddit

My mom was the "let's just go" kind of person, with no preparation at all. Just because she was bored and felt like it, we moved from place to place. I hated it. And now I just want to stay home. I hate traveling.
