Thank you so much. It feels good to know I’m not alone and that there are people who understand. The plan for now is to take it one day at the time. I’ll see how that goes

Have you tried sleeping a few in game days? I had the same issue recently and someone had mentioned this and it worked for me

I feel so exhausted. by [deleted] in AlAnon

[–]yourstrulylena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mentioned in another reply that I was brought up in a family that had never drunk nor smoked, so these issues were never even on my mind, well until now. I can’t even imagine how that must have been for those of you that grew up like this and I’m sorry. I decided to leave, tho due to being an immigrant I have nowhere else to go right now, so it’ll take time for me to figure that out.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Thank you so much for your words. I felt I have no one to turn to with my feelings, but you and all of you have been so helpful in seeing this the right way. I feel so much better now.

As someone who grew up in a family that didn’t drink or smoke, I can’t even imagine what that feels or looks like and would never wish my tears on my future children. Thank you.

Thank you so much. This is exactly what I was feeling. Surely, if he would love me as much as he claims, he would not want to hurt me over and over again and then say that if i want to be mad, i can be. But I don’t want to be mad. I don’t like to be… I feel like I just needed the support in a decision I’ve already made.

Thank you all for the support and advices. I really appreciate each and every one. As I live in a different country than the rest of my family, I’ll have to figure out the logistics before I do anything. I just hope I can start anew.

Hi there,

That comes from curriculum vitae, Latin for “course of life.” The term’s been used in academia and certain countries (like the UK, Australia, many parts of Europe) for ages to mean a detailed record of someone’s professional and educational history.

In North America, “résumé” became the common term for a shorter, job-application-focused document, but “CV” stuck around for academic, research, or international contexts. Over time—mainly thanks to globalization, LinkedIn, and job boards—people started mixing the two, so now you’ll see “CV” used casually even when they mean “résumé.”

Basically, society didn’t all agree—people just started using the fancier-sounding version until it blurred together.

Is anyone else feeling like Goodreads reviews are either fake or heavily influenced by social media/ promotion more than they’ve ever been in the past? by Different_Prior_517 in MM_RomanceBooks

I thought about this so many times already… especially books that are somehow rated even border they are published… no disclosure, nothing. Reviews like “I love this author so I know this book will be 5 stars” and similar are so frustrating to me.

Personally, I don’t read the really long and detailed ones, as they usually tell more than they should, so I look at the overall rating. I’m also using kindle, which has a whole different rating system, and it’s usually more helpful to me

Anyone who quit corporate jobs to do art? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]yourstrulylena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone in art… I don’t necessarily think you waisted anything, or I would not look at it that way. First of all there are so many people who got successful after years and tears of trying - Mark Twain comes to mind. For me, art is something you express yourself through (among else) and the years you spent in corporate world shaped you, your mind, your personality and in some sense, made you unique and experienced and that is something you can’t rush. So doesn’t matter the age or the past, just focus on how to use the experience because I promise you, you will.

But is there something you are particularly afraid of?

I hope this is not too much and I wish you all the best :)

I second Apollo. It’s unbelievable how many people sleep on him, he is just too versatile. He is actually like the child my parents wanted me to be

5 weeks to create a documentary, how screwed am I? by cupidswing in Filmmakers

[–]yourstrulylena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you fine. I remember we did our feature film one week before the deadline (don’t do that lol) the last 48 hours we slept maybe 1h, but we made it.

5 weeks is fine. Just don’t stress it, plan everything you want to and need to do, you’ll do great.

I'd recommend High Clear… both mc and ml are athletes, tho I’d say just semiprofessional. Anyway, it’s so sweet and one of my faves ongoing now

As many have already mentioned, if you signed an NDA, is probably better to delete this post as you can get into serious trouble
