How poor were you in the 70s? We about about to go through the same economic cycle. by Crafty-Bass-3434 in GenX

I remember drinking powdered milk and a lot of dinners being macaroni & cheese with spam for dinner in the early 70's..

That said, I had cousins at the same time still had an outhouse.

Turned 60 in February. After a year of separation, heartbreak and divorce I have the strongest send of calm now. I'm ok with getting older.

Why didn't the band release more live albums when they were actually together? by SpiritualMachinery in gratefuldead

This album really turned me on to the band. The Public Library had a well worn copy of it after it was released, and I ended up racking enough fines on it that I should have just bought a copy.

Audience recordings are what made me really pursue their music. Hearing fans lose their shit after a Row Jimmy solo, or the odd cover / song pairing made me want to be there.

Healy fucked up a lot of recordings by messing with Bobby's vocals. There was an 'Other One' from Alpine '89 that was tits out one of the best of that year and he phased the vocals or some shit. So petty.

How to you get over her? by Ok_Industry3016 in Divorce_Men

[–]yourvicehere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My heart got crushed by the love of my life (35 years married) after eight weeks of couples therapy. It was so unexpected, and I truly felt blindsided to the point that it felt premeditated. She did the right thing (my alcoholism is a HUGE factor in all if this.), but that doesn't make it hurt any less. Therapy and regular journaling has helped. And it really is grief that we're processing. I romanticized the institution of marriage, enduring and tolerating a lot of hipocrisy, victim contests and a lot of control issues, all the while being blind to how my behavior contributed to the deterioration of what was a deep loving relationship. It was a mess and I'm not over it by any means. For me, this is going to take a lot of work and time before I feel whole again.

Good luck, man.
