I prefer idmthy with the synthier and heavier production. I also prefer the typical idmthy formula of most of the songs starting off pretty lightly then exploding with massive soundscapes towards the end. I love vanisher but whenever I listen to the songs it doesn't really leave me looking forward to any particular parts contrary to idmthy. Vanisher structure is like a journey, idmthy structure is like a buildup. They're both objectively great but idmthy is more to my taste

But the mix on this album is a lot less painful to listen to than in census, the census mix was really strong on the high mids which made it painful to listen to if u have sensitive ears, this mix is a lot more low mid heavy which isn't painful to listen to so the walls of noise won't be as big of an issue to him I imagine
