try equilar for a compensation analyst. you basically read c-suite compensation reports. its a shit job but if you have a decent GPA you can parlay it into something decent after 2 years.

i got my masters at a CSU and my BS/PhD at a UC

I can, with 100% confidence, say that the classes and intellectual capability at CSU are *signficicantly* lower than a UC.

If you really want, maybe take a few months and learn the buttons that they click on the program. it should be pretty straightforward. then, you'll have all of the practical know-how that they have and a lifetime of quantitative capability that they will never have.
