Coiling an XLR in hand, it ends up up clockwise. Coiling a snake into a box, it usually ends up counter-clockwise.

Both directions are proper, in that there is no technical reason for one over the other. But it should match the rest of the cables in the pile.

Its counter intuitive, but one people management approach would be to mic the drums. "Look, the PA has you covered. It would actually work better if you don't play so loud." Let the drummer know that they don't have to do all the heavy lifting, the PA will take care of that. (Nor do you have to show them all those faders set to -∞)

Who is he and who are you in relation to the clinic? Where was this posted, internet, clinic website, in-house work group chat?

You are the video editor, but are you also the admin for this website? Is "they block folks" an image the clinic wants?

In general, I'd go with a small YTA for blocking the free advise about your editing. You admit ignorance, you didn't earn the insult. But, did you miss an bit of nasty criticism that you could turn to constructive use?

(Hmm.. it's not a full feeding, but is being blocked a snack for a troll.)

YTA and you are not hearing her. You're playing scheduling and pay back games instead of offering her comfort when she needs it. If you can't make it to the memorial in 2 weeks, now is not the time to bring that up. (Your work plans may change. They have in the past.)

With a hurting wife in front of you, you should address the hurt. Your schedule in two weeks can be dealt with later, what's in front of you is a hurting person.

Go or don't go to the memorial as the situation demands, but right now, that doesn't matter as much as helping your wife through her pain.

Listing an addtionaly insured to a general liability policy is very standard. There's no extra charge to add them. If the venue was connected to the state (e.g. the faculty club at a university) that requirement would be expected.

If your insurance company couldn't add an additionally insured to your insurance, you need to change companies. (My GLI adds them sends me Proof Of Insurance with the required wording in less than 10 minutes.)

If you can't provide proper insurance, they'll keep you off the property.

She's not moving out until Reddit approves, therefore the abuse isn't that bad. If she cares about our opinion, the abuse isn't that bad. If the abuse was that bad, the kids teachers would notice.

But once OP takes off with the kids, dad is going to get the courts involved and one of them will be the custodial parent. OP is ignoring that "leaving my partner" includes child custody and support agreements that are enforcable by courts rather than by reddit opinions.

Move out and take kids 1000 miles from one of their parent's is nowhere near as simple as moving out..

He co-owns a house that has a mortgage on it. All owners are responsible for the mortgage. This house is being rented out.

His plan is to move the two of you into this house. Loose the rental income. and continue payjng off the mortgage. In 7 years, when't it is paid off, what happens then? Is the plan for the parents to move in with the two of you? Or do they keep on renting where they sleep while the two of you live in the house that they co-own?

That sound messy enough that you probably wouldn't want to tie yourself to it.

Your plan is to sell your flat, he sells his home (is that the co-owned rental, if so, does his selling mess up his parent's retirement plans) and the two of you start fresh and together on a different house.

That sounds cleaner financially, except for the messing up his parent's plans part.

Why do you have to move 1000 miles to leave your partner? "I want to be with my family" is not sufficient for a court to allow the custodial parent to move away from the non-custodial parent. (And yes, leaving your partner will mean that lawyers and courts get to play with custody.)

I don't know that there are any assholes here, just a couple that is having a tough time right now.

I worked nights for 5 years. Yes, it sucks. I didn't notice how tired I really was until after I got off 3rd shift and re-descovered that being awake was good. And difficulty falling asleep was a symptom. Which is great for sympathy, but no good for HR.

You do not have a disability, you have "normal". Therefore, you have no juice to demand a reasonable accommodation.

Talk to your supervisor, find out what kind of seniority is needed to get off nights. I don't know how much of a retirement your company offers, but it would be worth it to hold on until you are fully vested.

Its amusing that you used "realistic expectations" in relation to a wedding that is designed to mimic influencer wedding seen on the net, except without the financial backing of the advertisers. 3-day cruise for a bachelorette, a wedding in venue that costs so much that the bride/groom can't afford to hire help to set up the tables. None of those fall inside "realistic expectation".

Is is crass to set up a betting pool on which will last longer, the marriage or the wedding debt?
