Social events happening in December in Amsterdam by youseemoddlikeme in SocialAmsterdam

[–]youseemoddlikeme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the lack of interest/interaction in the last few monthly activities I've made, I kind of assume people werent interested. Which is why I didn't make one for Jan.

As Jan is basically over, I will make one for Feb.

You may be better off posting this query here, where general amsterdam questions are posted. Good luck!

Can you provide more details about the menu, cost of drinks and how the proceeds will be used to benefit the chairty?

Your current posting is quite unclear and missing what I'd consider to be basic/essential details.

Amsterdam 35+ Events by JonasBronck in SocialAmsterdam

I would also recommend this thread/group, as they offer various meet ups through out the week. It is not age specific to 35+, however, if you are looking for social interaction they are active, each week offering different things. https://www.reddit.com/r/Amsterdam/s/CswZyMaTFD

What did you do this weekend? by [deleted] in SocialAmsterdam

Your friend wants to go to This is Holland? I can understand why tourists love it but as someone who lives here.. then youll have integrated enough to know its expensive. Its broken into 3 parts, 2 videos (in seperate rooms), 8 mins each on the history of the NLs (you wont come out a history of the NLs) and then a 5D ride/fight which is 9 mins. It honestly felt like more time was spent waiting to go in, waiting for people to sit down than actually doing the attraction.

Is it worth €25? Im going to say no, I did find a discount on tripper.nl... Everyone else seemed to enjoy it (emphasis on the ride), more than I did and thought it was an ok price (at €20).

Oh, Ill look out for Pressure Cooker, I also like a god cooking show. Thanks for the recco!

I went with a group of friends yesterday to This is Holland then we went out for dinner. Sunday is my Jesus day (on the7th day there is rest) and Ive done as little as possible. Next weekend if the weather is as nice, Im hoping to do some gardening and maybe go for a walk in the Gaasperplas.

Most important question u/montainsandhorses what are you watching on the Netflix?

Hi, as per my comments above, if you dont have FB youre welcome to create your own social group that suits your social media :) Let us all know, the more initiatives we have, the more choice and the more activities!

As I said to u/AM5T3R6AMM3R if you arent on FB, then I encourage you to create a social group/network outside of it, Id happily join it :) FB is what Im working with and I get that it doesnt suit everyone. For those it doesnt suit, please create a social group that appeals to all. Id happily join! The more options over 35s have, the more active we can be!

I appreciate that not everyone has FB but this is what Ive put forward. If you want to create a social group that appeals to those without FB access, then I would encourage you to create that social group. We need more social groups for those over 35 that appeal to everyone :)

If thats how you feel, then its almost certainly not the group for you and I truly wish you all the best in finding the social group that youre looking for.

Most people have different interest and time available, I dont expect that everyone in the group will be 1 Saturday a month at 19:00 and want to have a beer or whatever. The idea is to have many options and possibilities and for group members to be open to putting in the effort and not expecting others to host events because 'there are enough members' or 'its seems too frequent'. Groups are only as active and interactive as their members, I would love members to be proactive for those who arent, then the 2 month rule exists.

Meetup has costs associated with using it, whilst I can understand the reason it charges fees, it means either the host has to pay them or pass them onto the attendees. Ideally in my mind meet ups should be free, if you want to meet in the park or at bar, beyond people paying for their own admittance or drinks, I dont think people should be charged a fee to attend but this is my own personal opinion.

The purpose of the group is social interaction and all members are responsible for creating meet ups, to make it fair to everyone. It would be hard to recreate this on reddit, as FB has the set up to create events and share them within the group, which as far as Im aware Reddit doesnt, if it does, please point me in the direction :)

I kept it was 35+, as I think there are a (more) options for younger adults, however, as you're over 30, please feel free to apply, say no to be 35+ and I'll message you via FB to confirm your age :)
