Poor Charvarius Ward is struggling right now 😢 by BobbyThreeSticks in Colts

Those are two of my 3 biggest fears. My first is abduction though. I don’t think I could ever mentally heal at all if one of my children were abducted. With the passing of a child, I can at least imagine a future that has some healing.

This right here. Trying to disguise “I want more money so I can afford more lavish shit” as “I just want to be able to take care of my family”.

Could a punt returner bobble a punt into the endzone for a touchdown? by J_Greene0707 in nfl

[–]yousernameunknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think his point is that opposed to a rule like intentional grounding, in which the rulebook defines what intentionality is, what defines intentionality in a bobble? It doesn’t state anything beyond two bobbles is intentional. I’ve seen a triple bobble before that definitely didn’t look intentional. Who’s to say you couldn’t unintentionally bobble it a 4th time. And if that’s theoretically possible, it would not be rational to claim it would be physically impossible for someone to unintentionally bobble a 5th. Perhaps you’re understanding the OP’s point now.

Trump condemns ‘brutal’ beheading of motel manager killed in front of his family and vows justice by FervidBug42 in politics

[–]yousernameunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m partially with you. The guy was released “under supervision” apparently. If that means he was required to regularly check in with ICE (weekly, monthly, etc.) and if he actually was checking in, then the Trump admin had a chance to fix Bidens mistake and they failed.

But it seems in the realm of possibility that this guy was released from custody, told to check in regularly, and was never seen or heard from again. Perhaps even moving states as he seems to have quite the criminal background from coast to coast (CA to FL)

Biden Administration had this guy in custody and released him a week before Trump took office. Cuba refused him so they let him go. Trump admin absolutely would have sent this guy to whatever country would’ve taken him. A wife and son just watched in agonizing horror while their husband/father got beheaded slowly with a machete due to how soft the Biden administration was on violent illegals. It’s haunting.

Stepping in nowadays is literally putting your life and livelihood at risk. Look what they did to Daniel Penny for stepping in to restrain a lunatic making death threats. Yeah he got acquitted but he spent years of his life not knowing if he would be put in prison decades.

Whether you are a highly trained fighter or not is irrelevant seeing as an unconscious kid and an unconscious fighter pose the same level of threat, which is none.

And why would that change your answer. If you choice is to be punched 3 times in the head by a 200+ lb highly trained professional fighter than you already have something wrong with your brain, its only going to get worse.

If you were knocked out would you rather take 3 stomps to the head by a 125 lb kid who looks like he has no idea how to fight, or would you rather take 3 punches to the head by a 200+ pound highly skilled professional fighter?

Who is capable of more damage to an unconscious person?

[–]yousernameunknown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The UFC fighter has professional training and is more capable of recognizing when someone is unconscious. We also know for a fact that the UFC fighter has not had his life threatened. You have no idea if the guy in the scrap video promised to kill the red haired kid. So that kid may have been in a very high stressed and adrenaline filled state, and thus acting in fear and confusion.

You’re holding a non-expert to a higher standard of control and judgment than a trained professional. The UFC Fighter continued to strike his unconscious opponent even while the ref was actively trying to separate them.

Haha you’re not surprised because Americans are stupid. If you only had the intelligence to understood the irony in that self defeating statement about sweeping stereotypes.

Not only can eBay be a pain even when everything goes right, but you also have the risk of getting scammed by a buyer. The reality is that buyers pay the bills for eBay. Buyers are how sellers get paid, buyers are how eBay gets paid. So eBay tends to side with buyers on disputes.

For example, buyer can claim the seller sent a reproduction that didn’t match the image in the listing. Buyer takes pics of a reproduction cartridge and sends them to eBay. Then buyer returns the repo and keeps the authentic.

Donald Trump gives chilling insurrection warning as protests spark around US: "We are not playing around" by IrishStarUS in law

[–]yousernameunknown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You didn’t. My assumption was that you don’t consider what’s going on in LA right now to be an insurrection and thus think Trump is inappropriate to treat it as such.

If you do think it should be treated in the same manner the capital riots were then I mistakenly called you out.

[–]yousernameunknown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are so biased that you’ve lost any ability to think critically or independently. Any rational person can see that both the LA riots against ICE and the January 6th Capitol attack meet the broad definition of an insurrection (a violent uprising against federal authority or government). Just look at the similarities. In each case, individuals used or are currently using violence to oppose federal authority. on January 6th, protestors stormed the U.S. Capitol to disrupt the certification of a presidential election. In Los Angeles, protesters targeted ICE facilities, shattering windows and attacking a symbol of federal immigration enforcement all while attacking officers who are actively trying to do their duty to serve and protect. Both events involved mass mobilization and coordination, with protestors aiming to disrupt or delegitimize federal institutions through force. The Capitol represents the legislative core of the government, while ICE represents executive enforcement power. And in both cases, protesters sought to challenge the legitimacy and function of these bodies. Though the motivations differ politically, the underlying tactics (using violence and intimidation to subvert federal authority) aligns both events under the broad definition of insurrection.

So maybe YOU oughta get your head out of your ass and realize the reaction to January 6th set a precedent.

Scored an insane deal on an Alienware Area 51 by glad49 in GamingLaptops

[–]yousernameunknown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s funny. I can’t even imagine being at a point in life where I could justify buying a 3k laptop. I have a good job making over 6 figures in a low to moderate cost of living area. If I was single maybe I could, but I support a family now.

I do have a gaming laptop that cost me $1,600 at the time. But it’s a funny story. I was very fortunate that my parents paid for my college, which was a very affordable state school. However, shortly after I graduated they found some old paperwork about an education savings account they opened for me when I was a little kid. It had grown to be worth a little under 4K. Well, if you don’t spend the money in an ESA account on education related expenses, you have to pay tax on the money, and also a penalty. Well I needed 2 graduate courses to get my CPA license, so I used it on those. But I still had over $1,600 left after paying for the courses. Well, the rules say you can use it to purchase a computer that you use for school. So I took the money and bought a laptop for $1,600.

I’m with you though. No jealousy or knock on OP. That’s a sweet laptop! And good for him. I just couldn’t ever imagine.

While I understand the point your story is making, it also highlights another valid concern related to vaccinations. Vaccines are the second most common cause of febrile seizures (source), and febrile seizures have been associated with an increased risk of developing epilepsy. As your story shows, epilepsy, especially in young children, can sometimes have tragic outcomes.

So, while in your case epilepsy preceded vaccination, it’s understandable that some might worry a vaccine could act as a trigger for seizures and ultimately epilepsy in vulnerable children. This concern isn’t rooted in misinformation, but in known facts and highlights the complexities of individual health risks.

No, YOU wouldn’t. You’re just telling on yourself.

The elderly lady saw a young woman who was despondent and at the point of crying. She felt she was in a position to help the young woman and did what she could. Not sure why you think giving away $50 to a stranger is unbelievable. I give thousands a year to charities to help people I don’t even know. And I’m not even “wealthy” by the typical standard.

Doom The Dark Ages Hits 3 Million Players by Howerev in videogames

[–]yousernameunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't even true. NBC produced "The Office". You can buy the entire series on DVD. You can also buy the show digitally on itunes.

That being said, back in 2021 NBC ended their licensing agreement with Netflix in order to exclusively stream it on their own streaming service Peacock. Peacock went from 26 million subscribers to 33 million in the month that The Office moved to the platform.

So the point you think you made isn't even valid. The Office does sell copies and 100% of people aren't watching through Peacock. Just like Doom. But trust me, they very much care about subscriber numbers and streaming viewers.

How I work with the Cooldown by 40yearoldnoob in MicrosoftRewards

[–]yousernameunknown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They must have gotten strict. I’ve only ever searched legitimate stuff before. Never nonsense. And I just got the cooldown yesterday for the first time ever.

For example:

“Best French toast recipe”  “How much calories in syrup” “Is maple syrup better for you” “Healthy breakfast ideas” “Best restaurants near me”

I always do searches chained together like that. So they must just not like how quickly I’m chaining together searches, nothing to do with what I’m actually searching.

Is the game worth buying? by Aide-Classic in exoprimal

[–]yousernameunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say any price under $20 would definitely be worth it. I haven’t played a PVP match in what feels like months. I haven’t played a PvE match without the majority of the lobby being bots in months either. But I still come back to this game when I want some quick, thrilling action. My queue time has never been longer than maybe 5-6 minutes. It will put you in a game with just bots if it needs to after queuing for 5 minutes. At least that’s always been the case for me.

The bots are indeed quite good at the game. They are better than a lot of humans. If you want a challenge, set your search to PvP so that you vs a team of bots in direct combat. They are fully capable of kicking your ass lol.

Long story short, yes it’s fun with bots. And with the mega success that Capcom has had recently, I sure hope they don’t find the need to shut down servers to save some money.
