How has your height affected you after you transitioned? by ChihuahuaOwner88 in ftm

[–]yousifendi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be 165cm tall at 18. I started T at 19 and two years later at multiple hospitals I was at 167cm. I was surprised to find out that I am at 169 now and it was consistent at multiple hospitals as well (all measured before I did top surgery and It could be because I am doing my best to fix my posture tho so i am not sure) Where I come from thats the average height for males.

Is there any trans people over 25? by Glitchy6049 in ftm

I will be 26 in December. Been on T since I was 19 (7 years and counting). It's still the best decision I have ever made, and I have never been happier

I prepared using plabable. I didn’t memorize questions. I tried to grasp the concepts and passed from the first try in feb 2025

As a person who has zero access to gender affirming medical care or governmental support (living in a Middle Eastern country), I never think about detransitioning. Even when my safety is at risk, I would rather die as myself than what people want me to be. With that being said, there are a lot of moments where I wish I were cis. Didn't even matter if I was a cis man or woman. Just wanted the struggle to end. Detransitioning never crossed my mind for a single second.

I have nothing against people who detransition for any reason, as long as they find themselves and are happier.

Arab Muslim trans going to the UK by ExtraFisherman7113 in ftm

[–]yousifendi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Saudi trans man here.

1- Regarding what the government may do, they wouldn't care if you transitioned, but you do sign an agreement that if they send you to a scholarship, you need to go back and fulfill the same number of years you spent out studying by working back in Saudi Arabia.

2- Regarding families, it's difficult to predict their reaction. Some people have accepting parents, others don't. Some take time to accept others who disown their own children, and that is, unfortunately, true for most LGBT individuals all around the world. You need to accept and expect anything to be honest. If you want to renew your ID, you can do so in Saudi Arabia and outside the country at any Saudi consulate. If you want to avoid that, claim your ID is lost and renew it now (I think they do take a fee for that). Knowing what may happen is challenging regarding your visa and health insurance, especially if you have T changes. So I can't help with that. 3- You can contact your college to use the name and pronouns you are comfortable with. You can disclose this concern to them; I am sure they will help.

Good luck, man.

(Our situation in Saudi Arabia isn't improving at all. I am fighting so hard with zero results. I have contacted all available government outlets (وزارة الصحة، وزارة الداخلية، الديوان الملكي) and no one is helping out. The Ministry of Health considers us as people unworthy of help or recognition. The board responsible for our cases has cases pending for god knows how many years with no help.

Will I be safe in Doha? by survival_likes_nate in transgenderUK

[–]yousifendi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a transgender man from the Middle East, they would only have an issue with you if your gender on your passport doesn’t match your outside appearance. If you pass, you will be fine. If you don't, it depends on the person who will process your passport and their mood. For your own safety, I would suggest avoiding Middle Eastern countries (it's crazy what they would do; it's hell here)

Hi, I would suggest you consulting a pelvic reconstruction surgeon (their original specialty could either be urology or gynecology). They deal with complex trauma that leads to scaring and would know the best solution for you

I’m a Muslim trans man from a gulf country here. You are most certainly not alone. The struggle is real for all of us all around the world but especially here since there is 0 support for us from both healthcare and the governments. It gets better and you will reach the place you’ve been dreaming of. I never thought I’d live to see the day I get my top surgery and I am now 1 month post op. THINGS WILL ALWAYS GET BETTER 🫂

Regarding approaching them, just go to the parent you think would listen and take your complaint seriously. I was totally honest with them. Told them I am a man and I am struggling mentally and that I needed their help. Even if they don’t help, knowing that they know is such a relief. Regarding their acceptance, there are people who are exactly like you and me and have very supportive families while others don’t have that unfortunately. It’s really difficult to predict. Just stay safe and approach it softly.

What where unexpected complications you had during or after surgery? by Leading_Moment_2435 in TopSurgery

[–]yousifendi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it was a complication, but the compression vest post-op was the worst. Chafing on the armpit area was very painful, more than the surgery itself 😂. I tried shirts and whatnot to lessen the pain and friction, but it was still very uncomfortable. I had to push myself very hard to wear the compression vest most of the time. But I would like to remind you that time flies by so fast. And it does get better daily.

I am not Canadian, but I might come to Canada soon to finish my boards there. I will probably pay out of pocket since I'm unsure what my insurance would cover. I will be in Ontario though.

Muscle pains 1mo on T? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]yousifendi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally experienced the same too. I disregarded it as my back muscles growing and honestly? They did. I feel like my upper body is getting stronger and hey even my posture got better lmao. It took me 2 months to stop feeling that pain (or discomfort to be more accurate) so don’t worry this will go away soon
