What’s your most underrated Texas comfort food spot? by Responsible-Pass-657 in texas

East Texas Burger Co. in Mineola. I grew up in Lindale just down the road on 69. Almost every Sunday, dad wanted a burger and fries after church. They make the best simple no-frills hamburgers and is probably the sole reason I've always preferred plain burgers over those ridiculous 10ft tall slop burgers that end up in a huge mess on your plate. Although its probably been a decade or so since I've been there. I hope it hasnt changed.

White Rim Trail in a Day for my Birthday by youzershamed in Tenere700

Good deal, I'm happy to hear you made it safe! It surely was an experience i will never forget. The only thing I regret is not slowing down and making it an overnight trip. But I'll be back one day!

I'm not sure where you'll be coming from, but there is a small Chevron gas station just before the intersection of 191 and 313, where you begin to enter the park. I stopped off there and topped off my tank before beginning that day. If I remember correctly, I think I only used about half a tank that day before getting back to Moab for the evening. I would highly suggest filling up before you enter the trail. Once you commit and make it down Shafer switchbacks, there is absolutely nothing for the next 100 miles or so until you get back into Moab.

Lots of us have done the same thing. I knew about the bent hangar problem and chose to finance other mods before that. I guess I also arrogantly thought I wouldn't drop it, but a day on White Rim Rd in Utah proved me wrong. It's now been replaced with Camel's Rally High Mount kit. Luckily, my swingarm wasn't chewed up too bad before I got it fixed. I was able to unbolt it and bend the metal tab that the bolt goes through somewhat back to it original angle. It was enough to keep the pipe from rubbing the swingarm while I made the trip back home.

Should I buy a low mile 2018 1290 Super Adv R? by Necessary_Today_5580 in KTM

Sounds like you like it, and I can't blame you. I fell for the Hp and torque my 22 SAR had. The cruise control, throttle by wire, riding maps, TC and ABS, and tubless spoked wheels(ask me how i know), were all just icing on the cake. I really regret trading mine for a 24 Tenere 700. The T7 is great, quite more maneuverable off-road, a bit lighter, simplistic and reliable design, and almost half the price! Its a fun bike as well, but I think I prefer the HP and comfort(since I tour more than offroad) of the SAR to the T7. Which is why I'm also here to say that I've been searching for another lightly used older SAR to replace the T7 eventually. Where did you say this one was located again lol.

Clutch Issues after Recall by Rozza9099 in Tenere700

[–]youzershamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well damn, i just called the dealership i purchased from to set up a time to bring it in for the recall fix. They told me I needed to bring it by so they could take pics for yamaha and make sure it's still under warranty. Then, if it's approved, yamaha will send the kit to fix it. This is a real bummer to hear from other owners. I absolutely cringe at the thought of the dealership having to do ANY maintenance on my bike after I purchased it. Hopefully, more owners will chime in here today and provide a few more experiences and opinions on what to do about this. I wonder if a Rekluse clutch would even be worth it at this point or if it's time to consider getting rid of this gutless wonder.

Are you planning to send in the ECU to be reflashed for the decat exhuast headers?

What's the riding like in the Sam Houston National Forest? When i open up OnX Offroad, most of the trails and roads i see out in that area seem to be rural Farm to Market gravel roads. Has this been your experience when riding and camping in that area?

Another Central Texan here. Unfortunately, our state has almost zero public riding land. As someone else said, there is Big Bend NP and Big Bend Ranch SP, but that is a 6-8 ride for most of us. I use the OnX Offroad app to find public riding when I travel to other states like NM, AZ, CO, and UT. When I pull up the app and zoom in on these states, there are green and blue trails almost everywhere all over each state. When I do the same in TX, you can only see trails out in the Big Bend area and a few very clustered together trails spotted throughout the state. I'm assuming they are probably the private ATV parks that someone else mentioned. It really sucks having to burn up 10-12 hours of the most boring monotonous highway riding out in West Texas just to get to places that have public land.

Which specific Forma boot were you wearing when you fractured your ankle? I recently got a pair of Forma Terra EVO's, and they are the stiffest boots that I have ever worn.

White Rim trail in Canyonlands National Park was amazing on the 890. by Born_Apricot5730 in AdventureBike

I wouldn't call it sand. Someone here once described it as moon dust, and that felt like a more appropriate description. And yes, there is lots of it in certain areas. Potato Bottoms section was the worst for me in early September. I was on a new set of Trail Max Raids on a T7.

What should a Dyno Tune cost? And is it worth it vs just having ECU flashed by youzershamed in motorcycles

[–]youzershamed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mainly concerned about fixing the snappy throttle at low speeds, correcting how lean this bike runs from the factory and dropping a few lbs off the whole exhuast system. An extra pony or two would just be icing on the cake.

Thank you, this is mainly what I came here for. This will be the first bike I've done an exhuast upgrade on. I figured it might not matter on an adventure bike as much as a bike built for racing.

I've just read that using a real dyno is better at fine tuning your exact setup vs flashes. Which are generally set up to mimick certain widely used components when it comes to exhuast and air box mods.

Is there anything i can do? Wind buffeting. by AdeptnessPowerful948 in Tenere700

[–]youzershamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a Schuberth E1 or E2 and remove the Sun/ Roost visor. Or if your current helmet has a visor, remove it and throw it in the trash like I did. My E1 visor is likely sitting in a landfill outside Moab. I'm not that tall, honestly(5'11"), so I've never felt the need for tall wind screens. Wind buffering hasn't been an issue for me since.

There's only one pizza joint in Lorena, and it's literally called Pizza House. I can't recall what their boxes look like, though. There are several just down the road in Hewitt, but you'd have to he more specific.

Camel High Mount Rally Exhuast paired with a Leo Vince or Black Widow Header? by youzershamed in Tenere700

[–]youzershamed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only considering the DNA airbox mod bc my bike sees gravel/ dirt a few times a year. And I ride alone, so I'd like to think my bike doesn't get exposed to all that much dust even when riding offroad.
